Keeping your own custom levels for offline use?
It seems a little ridiculous that I can't play my own published custom levels if I'm offline. I realize the levels are probably stored on a server once you publish them but do they really not have any way for you to keep your own levels that you made on your computer? I feel as if I'm almost being rewarded by not publishing levels because I can keep them and play them no matter what when they're in that state. This is a great game and I've been a big fan of N for years now but this is REALLY bothering me. I'm probably just going to look into the folders and see if I can find where my unpublished levels are being saved so I can make copies. Any chance we'll ever see an update that allows for playing your own custom levels offline? This was pretty much standard in N and N+.

I'm sure they have a good reason as to why the game removes your custom levels from local storage after publishing them, but I cannot fathom what that reason can be at the moment.

In the meantime, the current workaround is copying your unpublished levels from Documents>Metanet>N++>levels into a backup folder and copying them back in after publishing for offline play (requires rebooting the game for the returned levels to register).

We didn't want to enable people to repeatedly spam the same level (or, variations of a level). tbh we didn't consider your use case when designing the level sharing -- I'm sorry! :(

Thanks for responding, it's always nice to see developers who care about their customers and the feedback. I realize it may not be possible at this point but it would be great to eventually see the ability to save and play levels or just keep and play (not further edit or re-upload) your own levels after you publish. Again, thanks for the official response!

No problem, thanks for playing! There are definitely a few things we'd like to change about the level sharing, but at this point it doesn't look likely simply because there are other things we'd like to fix/add that we think would make a bigger difference. But it's definitely on the list :)

I'm really sorry Becken.. could you explain what happened/what steps you took? It's possible the level file is still on the hard drive.

If you're truly on the xbox 360 and not XB1 or Series, then you're playing N+ which is an older game in the series. Unfortunately I don't really know anything at all about the level sharing there, sorry. Just wanted to clear up any confusion about exactly which game you might be playing.
