Ah i see, thank you for the great response :)
the lvls in 1.4 were really tougher and had a different feeling tbh, they would make you rip your own hair off after a while.
n ++ possibly less latency. I do not know. developers - explaind me - why n++ easier to play?
it would be nice to have all the levels of 1.4 in n ++ as separate tabs, but I understand that porting all levels is a lot of work.
When I started N++, getting all gold seemed on any given level was pure fantasy. After 15 hours of playing it, I am starting to aim for it systematically.
It seems you have played a couple hundred hours, so I'd just say practice makes perfect, probably? Did you try getting back to 1.4 since?
The "infamous hardest 1.4 stage" mother thumping impossible is like a mid-tier X-row in N++, and when I say mid-tier, I mean goldless, which is even easier.
Btw this is my first N++ game, I went systematically all-gold from intro up to the final stage in legacy tab, no skips.
Meanwhile, here is just a dabbler, who still has to learn to fly!
(thats the user column btw)
i'm not talking about hardest lvls
i'm talking about the *frustration* level some of the episodes had.
1.4 had some levels that were really, really frustrating. hard doesn't always mean frustrating. bricklayer in the usercolumns (pain in the ass), the gauntlet n-ervous breakdown (the last level of 1.3 i think), slippery trip hazard with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sniper at the end, scrumtrulescence or whatever that was spelled, sibilant s (actually easier than i thought, as mti) etc.
this frustration level is present in n++ as well (evil ninjas!!), but i have to say i miss some of these old ass long levels (i hope some of them are in the secret levels that i still havent played, but whatever)
also its probablyy just nostalgia but what can you do :))
m&r say their lvl design got better, i say it just got different
edit: ive restarted n++ a few times because of formatting and losing saves files, but i didn't find mnay "frustrating" levels (of course if you're going for all gold thats another story; one with the evil ninja was really awesome though forgot its name, its not the first one though), but still hoping for the secret lvls to make me rage some more
Imagine one of many stages where the buzzer is right next to the spawn, but there's a whole stage left to uncover. It's a hollow victory.
Yes, N++ runs at a faster framerate *and* it's a lot smoother (fewer fluctuations in timing).
That looks really cool... how did you find it?
