you should use summons as tanks, 2 of them, 1 for each mage
Phero Jul 18, 2014 @ 8:07am
just back up the stairs and make a chokepoint
Exactly what Phero said. One thing people don't understand about this game (those that are quick to say it sucks, is imbalanced, badly designed, etc.) is PREP. Bring barrels, bring candles, bring stuff to turn the field into a field of death. Then prep the field. Put oil barrels down in strategic spots where you know the enemies will run, the candles will be tossed into the oil to ignite it, etc (to do this right make sure the candles are LIT when you drag them into your inventory, so they are lit when you throw them onto the oil otherwise nothing will happen). That sort of thing. Then separate your party, and put all but one (the one with the most AP) in prep-spots. Then send the one with the most AP as I said, into the fray to engage, and pull them to your prepped setup.

In the case of Evelyn, prep everything on the side of the door with the stairs while keeping your party on the other side (near Theyron's body), then send the one with the most AP down there to engage. Run up the stairs and let them follow you to the door. Lay some fire and maybe a static cloud or whatevs right in front of it so they won't go through, using the barrels and candles and fire skills and all that (or other elements, doesn't have to be fire), then proceed to AoE them to oblivion.

Focus on killing Evelyn very soon. She will lost AP in moving, healing, more, that's handy. But I agree Phero suggestion is quite efficient back up to use the corner in the stairs. At first try I did it and it was very good until I cumulated few errors and lost the combat. Then tried harass her with my rogue, summons, warrior, and it's been rather efficient too.

Obviously take care to spread a bit your team will help too or use covers, like the corner.

Just stun her minions and then kill them one by one ? There is no trick. The strategy will depend on which character classes and skills you have chosen.

I had 2 summons, 1 spider and 1 skeleton. I teleported her in middle of my party (use Jahan for first turn). Just stun locked and smacked her down. It was piece of cake to kill her. Also, like the guy above pointed out - I was on stairs when I pulled Evelyn.

Boulder bash ftw.

Handy tip: if you charm an enemy, his summoned pal will be on your side too. My rogue/ranger ran in, slapped a kiss on one of the bony buggers, then went invisible and ran out while they turned on one another.

Add a summoned spider to the mix, and it wasn't too hard to keep my party alive while we mopped up the mess.

Deadly as he is don't try using disables on the big guy, his saves and HP are high. The cyclops is squashy and has low saves. Evelyn hits very hard if not contained, the skeleton summons more every few rounds if you leave him alone (which you can farm!). The flaming dogs are trivial.

Fire will heal the dogs, but on the other hand they can be a great vector to spread flame through ooze if you disable the skeleton for later.

I like to blind the skeleton, charm the cyclops to distract the big guy and focus evelyn down. Then I kill the cyclops then dogs, then I re-blind (or knockdown or stun) the skeleton and whittle the big guy down.

Then I farm the skeleton's summons till i'm bored, at which point I finish him.

Oh - and fire resist on whoever will be near the enemies, there is a ~lot~ of fire damage going around this fight!
Yeah, using my tactic of fire barrels be aware as ^ says, fire heals the dogs. But they also die in about 2 hits from anything and are pretty much meant to ruin your melee character by spawning fire on him when he hits them. Just blow them up real quick with ranged.

However if you lay down a static field or electrified water where the doorway is, they won't run through it to get to you. So water barrels and electric magic/arrows works wonders too and will keep enemies stunned for multiple turns if you funnel them.

i had some success with boulder bash on some of the minions and then killing one of the demonic rams by teleporting it to the poisoned ground left by the boulder. the rams exlpde on death, which again triggers the exlosion of the poison, which killed the second ram, which also exploded susequently. this opening spell combo killed half the minions straight away. use CC spells (rain + lightning damage/chill) to temporarily knock out some more of the lot and kill them one by one. if you can CC evelyn, kill her later. note that the minions have different elemental resistances. one of the dudes is fire immune and is even healed by fire, another one is healed by lightning etc.

I had just a Rogue and Shadowblade so I was gimped a bit. I charmed the beast and then teleported fire dog to blow up everything. Then backstabbed Evelyn to death in a couple turns.

Wasn't all that hard. Took me a couple of tries though.

The two hellish hounds are literally walking explosives. Use teleport on one or both of them and drop them close to Evelyn and the big demon. This will almost kill them.
Simply doing this will make this fight a cakewalk.
