In topic WHERE I CAN GET THIS FU**ING TORCH????????????
You can always come back later and do the thing.

Or you could create a fire godlike random companion at the inn that (maybe, haven't tried) could light the braziers.

In topic Doing the same things again?
I don't make different choices just for the sake of making different choices. I think I've let the sailor drown in every playthrough I've ever done, just because I have no emotional attachment to the guy.

First playthough was with a Paladin so I felt constrained to use the favoured dispositions, next playthrough was Rogue and I played him as a "loyal to allies, ruthless to enemies" sort of lovable rogue.

Don't think I could play one where you're just a prick to everyone, that just seems one-note.

In topic whats the benefit for siding with a faction?
Some of the faction quests did give item rewards if I recall correctly. Nothing amazing, and there's no reason not to do all their quests up until the inevitable point of no return (which is clearly signposted),

In topic how do you play this, ekera?
I'd have to agree that the initial neketaka segment does have some pacing issues. Awful lot of small and relatively banal sidequests do bog it down a bit.

In topic How Would One Create A Ninja?
Hmm. Devoted(Sable or Sword)/Assassin.

Lots of stealth for a-stabbin', explosives for a-bombin' and mechanics for a-trappin'

In topic Maia Conflict. Spoiler.
No companion leaves if you choose the Principi faction, though it wasn't the most desirable outcome for my tastes.

In topic Ascended Cipher
Had a lot of fun with a dual-wielding melee barbarian/cipher.

In topic A question about mages & grimoires
To echo what others have said; it's handy to keep a few grimoires handy in case of enemy immunities but if you pick your "must have" spell at each level up, you really can't go wrong.

I suppose you could purposefully tailor your spell choices to exactly match one specific grimoire which in theory (haven't tested) should give you more variety in the other grimoires? Seems needlessly OCD for very little gain though.
The only time this was a problem for me was when fighting Fampyrs who seem to have some kind of bug/ability that automatically dominates anyone who places a DoT on them.

I had Eder as a Rogue with DoT talents/abilities and he was insta-dominated whenever he fought a fampyr. Every time.

Counter for me was to either keep him away from fampyrs and on minions or to feed him a Captain's Banquet if I knew I was coming up against them.

In topic Cannon Accuracy
It's seemingly affected by quite a few things; being outside the optimal distance for the specific cannon, the skill of the cannoneer, whether you "hold position" before firing and the actions and position of the enemy ship.

Holding position before firing adds a huge boost to your cannon accuracy, as does the other ship being broadside and stationary. If you mouse-over the icons on the ship combat page you'll see that moving gives a defensive bonus against incoming cannon fire.
It's not something that bothers me to a great extent, but if you're gonna allow skipping for people who prefer to read subtitles rather than listen to dialogue (or people with impaired hearing, I suppose) then it should only skip displayed subtitles, not entire conversation segments.

Noticed it once or twice and was mildly annoyed while replaying the early-game (sorry, Clay).

In topic The beast in the sewers is OP
Try to have a balanced loadout on your "specials" (one blood, one shadow, self-heal and a stun is my usual go-to) and have at least one weapon/off-hand specialised for blood draining. Upgrading stamina helps a lot too, chaining dodges together can buy you a decent bit of distance/time.

In topic Home-Base "Stash" doesnt refill
The stash is an overflow for any ammo you pick up but can't carry; it doesn't regenerate.

In topic Heard the combat was pretty poor...
It's reasonably good. Not amazing, but not awful. Can be a bit repetitive depending on your choice of combat build but it "feels" fine.

Kinda reminiscent of Dishonored but without the insta-kills.

In topic Recipe
There are two locations, depending on your "choice" with Dorothea.

If you "spare" the above NPC during their storyline, they turn into a vendor that sells it. If you don't, you can find the recipe on a dead NPC in the graveyard, but apparently only after you attend Mary's funeral.

In topic Hows everyone liking it so far?
I'm enjoying it thus far. I love the dreary setting, and the visuals. I enjoy that it's very talky and the combat is fairly infrequent as it feels like the fighting is the weakest part of the game imo.

I'm not a graphics purist so I can look past the game looking a bit dated.

Up to now, no regrets on purchase. Playing civilian pacifist with ranged attacks at the moment, can easily see myself replaying monster with melee focus afterwards.

In topic Dorothy Crane outcome (Spoilers)
If you talk to people in the district after "charming" her, you hear them talk about how she became distracted, careless and got herself infected. Some of the in-game literature you can find talks about mesmerism's ability to "break" human minds.

You done broke her guv.

In topic how bad is it to give bjorn nothing (once)
There are some tributes that are virtually impossible to reach unless you know they're coming and/or have prioritised your build order to accomplish certain things. The dried meat caught me out on an early run, as I'd never bothered with upgrading the relevant stations and had a run of stormy/rainy weather during that tribute week.

I'll be grateful for the upcoming update that apparently gives more visibility to the "angry meter" so we're better informed of how close we are to pushing the big fella over the top.
