Wizard Summon Glitch
The wizard summons something, then dies. And their summons don't leave / despawn meaning my minions get stuck fighting a endlessly raging unkillable sparkling in my base that just ruins an entire run. Not fun... Needs to be fixed. Was reported 3 dang years ago.

I took a quick look into it today. Unfortunately there's not much to go on in either the linked ticket or in other sources such as this thread. But it's a topic I've seen raised every now and then.

These units are able to take combat damage and did so in all of my tests, they also fade over time correctly.

Behaviours did not change with the death of the wizard, except that they were raging after their master died. But they would still take combat damage and fade as normal. I also tested the relationship between units being bonded to a new master, but this all seemed to work correctly.

Whatever is happening is an edge case that I've not yet worked out the source of. Unfortunately esoteric issues like this are extremely low priority with the game having been in maintenance mode for years now.

If I ever happen to catch it myself when I do occasionally work on the game I might be able to identify the cause.

I'll work on intentionally goading out the bug to happen and try to get video of it happening from start to finish. Would you take offense if i Dm'ed it to you directly?

As luck would have it, I may have found a bit more of what goads the bug into happening, It seems the most frequent time it happens is with level 10 wizards and when they get killed with a Colossus near by. Only thing I can think of is perhaps the sparklings don't take combat damage when raging under those conditions?
