Heart of Gold achievement guide?
Are there enough people playing this game to even bother with this? I can only seem to get the most simplest ones to understand, like "Allow Mandalf to respawn 8 times".

Just get him inprissoned, and cast bloodmoney on him, then he will die.
Inprison against, bloodmoney, and he will die.

What about "Kill all patrols in Level 2 before they reach the end of the road", and "Finish the level without the patrols seeing you"?

Road Block is quite Easy.
Just use about 5-10 Ember Demons and Defenses, as well as your Beasts. Perhaps cast sometimes Magical Meat on them, so they won't get pissed.


About not getting detected, it's a bit harder:
I recommend, pick out a rout you like to go.
Then you have 2 ways to get to the place where you place your Outpost & Underminer.
You could do it with Construction [Ritual]
Or with Spirit Worker's [Potion]

Just make sure, that your Workers won't get near the enemies. (Wall them off with a Replacement Eath row. As I did this achievement, I placed 2 Layers of Replacement earth, just to be safe).
I also used to safe, before I encounter the enemie.

There's a quite safe road, where you get about 8 Shrines with only 1 time encountering the Enemy. (Go noth, and then west. But there's also 1 safe Shrine on your south).

So, for Road Block, I can let the first set of patrols pass without penalty while I build my Ember Shrines, defenses and Beast Den??

No, you have to kill EVERY single Unit, which want to cross the road.
I did it that way.
I built a huge Barracks and a Huge Beast Den, an arena (so that my beasts will train).
Then I went south, killed all Stone Knights, Underminer, to get access to the road.
Place all my units there until my 8 Ember Rifts are finished.
Set my Beast Rally flag there and my Ember Demon Flag. Further to I placed some Bombards and BoneChiller.

Turns out that even after I kill Colleem they keep coming. How many waves of patrols count for Road Block?

When I focus on beasts and Embers I lose the Cultists and Gnarlings I pick up from digging. And I need the high-level Cultists to speed up analyzing the Shrines.

unlimited weaves of patrols.
you can have beasts and Embers and intelligent minions spawning at the same time.
i would support your beasts at the beginning with your intelligent minions.
after you've enought embers. you can fo other stuff, with your intelligent minions.

How do I build everything you said BEFORE the first patrol wave reaches the default shrine that I have to unlock in order to gain access to the brimstone I need to blast to open the road?

the south shrine is near a road which is quite far from the forst portal, where the patroll spawns.
how i said, I placed a huge barracks (7x7 or somethimg like that) and a huge beast den (bigger then 5x5), built arena, lair, slaughter pen and tavern.
got the neutral minions.
researched the first shrine.
then went south. placed underminer.
went with my army in to kill all stone knights.
meanwhile placed a second underminer to get to the road.
then kill workers, place 9 ember rifts.
when there's a patroll near by, i sent my entire army there.
when all embers are done.
recalled all intelligent minions.

i think you have almost 15min time for that. but dunno.

if you want I can record it.

So the patrols only count AFTER Calleem shows up? There are about 15 that show up prior to his arrival. And it only takes the first one 1 minute to spawn and 1 minute to reach the shrine nearest my Dungeon Core.

yes they spawn early, but the road takes some time until they will reach the end gate.

i think the shrine i ment isn't the south shrine.
but its the shrine were you get the neutral spirit

That's only 5 minutes total, not 15!
So I get only 5 minutes to hollow out all the space around my Dungeon Core and the north end, build the lair, slaughter pen, tavern, barracks, beast den and 6 Ember Rifts.

OK... I think I do need to see a video of how you do Rhode Block, because the first patrol wave even reaches the NORTH access within 3 minutes!

I used a stopwatch app to time the level. It takes exactly one minute to start the first spawn, and ~5 minutes to reach the access near the default artifact shrine.
