Report a translation problem
As for the suggestion to bring it to Switch, I see one major issue, the game is primarily controlled by a mouse? How do you translate that to the switch's controls?
This becomes increasingly problematic as the technical capabilities of a particular console are reduced. Although the Switch is an excellent console, and definitely one that we'll consider as we work on future titles, it's tech specs are the most limited of the current generation.
Sadly it's just a case that we never designed WFTO with consoles in mind and at this point making that transition would be resource intensive. It's just not something we can afford to dedicate our time to.
Sorry :(
We've learned a lot over the years and it is possible to port a fully functional RTS to consoles. Though clearly the Mouse and Keyboard remains the best input solution for RTS it is possible to make a enjoyable experience with some well thought out control scheme.
Unfortunately, it's another barrier to entry though as it would be a big problem that would need to be solved.
My final year Team Project at Uni was doing exactly this, building a (fairly simple to be fair) RTS game which was built specifically for consoles and using a controller rather than mouse and keyboard, so it's definitely possible.
