Yeah, spreading lime after mulching has no effect. It's a bug. You'll need to cultivate and then spread lime again. Next time spread lime before mulching.

Well, Heck. I didnt want to buy a cultivator but oh well. Thank you!
I have turned lime off until the bug is fixed or precision farming comes out, if it does. From what i have read I don't think we will see precision farming.

I always check on the soil condition and found that on the chart it shows that a field needs lime and when I use an AI to introduce lime to the field, then a message say that no lime is needed and the worker have completed their task. I have to do the job myself.

How unsurprising, a regular game action it's bugged. I wonder how in their intensive playtests could have missed it...

I wondered about that too. But hey, perhaps it will get fixed in the next patch.

This time they really dropped the ball, i get they had problem in the office, but in three years nobody noted all those little quirks, that everyone found in their first minutes? You don't even need an extended playtesters squad, just a couple of folks playing.

You sound like a good friend.
So patch 1.5 did not fix this bug. Or maybe it's a feature!

The developers have lost their conscience. The game has bugs that should appear in the first minutes of testing.

I agree.

It's not a glitch and its not the developer dropping the ball. Its player ignorance.

There has always been an order in which things have to be done. You can only apply lime in certain steps of preparing fields for next crop. You also do not need to lime each time however if you do you get the max lime bonus.

Its not difficult to figure out. It has also been that way in FS22.

With precision farming these steps changed and most people forgot or did not know to begin with that it was required.

As a side note precision farming is coming back.

People ask for more sim in Farm Sim instead of Tractor Driving and when they get it they complain.

The following is the correct order

Harvest
Lime
Mulch
1st Fert - Slurry can do 1 & 2
Plow as needed
Pick stones
Decide to direct seed with or without 2nd Fert

If no direct drill
Cultivate
Pick stone
Plant with or without fert

2nd Fert if not included during planting

Roll

Now you know. Farm on. Once the new Precision Farming is released this may or may not change.
Wouldn't applying lime to a field and then mulching ruin the blades on the mulcher?
You also need to take crop damage into account. Soil left behind after crop damage needs to be reset before you can do anything to it. So you really should be mulching, cultivating, then liming. In the case of direct seeders, you'd plant in place of cultivating.

How in the head first in the manure heap is PLOWING after 1st fert the correct order?
-
Plow 1st IF it is needed, which it only is after ~3 harvest unless root fruit, then the rest of the steps ending with seeds in the ground. (lime, mulch, cult, seed+fert+(if double application), weed, fert (if no double application)
Lime can also be added after seeding or cultivating. But AI many times will not (especially after 1.5).
