Yhat and it seems so far that everywhere around the edge of the map, if you start messing around with the height of the ground, you get awful flickering map textures.
I get it so bad that when I drive into those areas I completely disappear. Someone tried to blame it on me having a shader problem but my buddy with a 4080 came over and he sees the same exact thing. Whoever design this map really sucks.
I don't think the map design itself is the problem. At least not for the "area Restricted" stuff. I 'm hoping it gets addressed in the upcoming patch.
We sure can hope they'll fix it, but I'm not going to hold my breath quite yet.
If it does get fixed I hope they do something about being able to also remove items from our bought property that currently can't be.
Bought a piece of property that's in the far Northwest corner And there's a little bucket and a fence that I can't remove. Had to build a hill up over top of it.
Actually have a lot of properties that have the same problem and that's on top of the areas restricted that's going on in almost every single property.
too much work for no money, so the higher ups will never approve of fixing such a "minor" issue...
That it completely ♥♥♥♥♥ the game for so many people, does not seem to matter much
You're quite probably right about that.
It's why I've opted for custom maps... none of these issues, or at least not to any extent that I've come across in the default maps.
Custom maps are where it's at, but this is where sunken cost falacy comes into play. We've already spent XXX hours playing on these maps and it feels ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to just quit it. But like he said, if the problem is the maps, then if they were to fix it it would require a new save game anyway, more than likely anyway.
It did suck because of how many hours I sunk into Riverbend, but I'm actually not regretting it now that I'm enjoying the hell out of this 4x map.
There's no way Giants was going to fix all the issues I was having. That flickering crap at the edges of the map were design flaw And they would have to completely redo the map to fix that along with the various property pieces you couldn't delete etc etc
Now I get a nice flat map that's twice as big with none of the issues. Not only that but it doesn't even have water so I don't have to deal with that stupid ferry going 2 mi an hour back and forth or taking the long way around all the time.
This is my first time playing FS, but now I know that if they release another version in either 2027 or 2028... Hold off playing until custom maps come out.
It don't really matter with Giants, they always aim to fix bugs when they can without breaking things more. I've had all there farming Sim games and its been the same from the start, they will do there best to fix them, if they implement mods into the game they credit the mod makers 100% - its a very good company to get games from. The whole bug thing and not buying it until a custom map comes out is all fine though you get bugs with every game that comes out, BUT with Giants they tend to listen to people like us and not so much wait for us to find bugs to fix but they do that as well as there own testers, I've reported bugs before and they been looked at and fixed and I'm thankful for. Everyone plays games in there own way and do things differently though for sure! :)
Honestly I do not understand how you can say its a good company to get games from? They release game with 3?! maps, and each of these maps has stuttering, flickering textures and areas where you cannot build at all because its bugged. The AI workers are nice, but buggy as ♥♥♥♥, they cannot even do a "simple" task like driving next to each other while one harvests and the other collects the harvest. The driving controls are beyond complicated and irritating (have a look at construction sim for crane controls for gods sake...).
Yes I enjoy the game, because of the modding community, as most of the mods can one way or another fix the issues I have. It is my very first FS game and its fun with friends, but to call this company a good company to buy games from, when they cannot even do something so fundermental as to make maps where you can actually BUILD on the land you can purchase... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke.
How come the modders can do that in like a couple of WEEKS after the release, when the devs cannot do that after YEARS of development?! Srsly...
And yes, I know, its not not devs, its the shotcallers... doesnt matter, its the company as a whole that fails at making some simple maps.
I haven't had any flickering either, except after this last patch. :/
