Repaint Costs Are Silly
Buying an Auger Wagon for $50,000, but it costing $40,000 to repaint it is insane. Can this be fixed by the devs, or is anyone able to make a mod to adjust the prices or just repainting.

Thanks!

It was that way in fs22 so I think it's intended. Why I have no idea.

In FS22 is a mod, where you can adjust the pricing. I hope the mod comes back to FS25

Repaint costs are absurd.

Whole new release and they didn't even see fit to tweak this little detail to something more sensible? Sheesh, bad enough they never did anything about it in FS22. I don't think I've seen anyone at all claim the paint damage and re-painting prices are in any way fair, realistic, or in some abstract way justified. Yes there will no doubt be a mod for it, but if absolutely no one agrees that the mechanism currently makes sense, how hard would it have been to just, I don't know, set the damage rate and re-painting price to something realistic in the game itself?? Am I missing something here? Don't get me wrong, I LIKE a financial challenge to my game, I LIKE having to manage my finances and accept that there are significant operating costs in reality. I just don't like that challenge to come from a gamey money-soak mechanism. And if the reply to that is "just don't re-paint then, it's only cosmetic and has no gameplay effect" then why is it even in the game at all? If it's there make it relevant... eg: at some point poor paint condition adds repair costs because of rust damage - and make the pain costs and wear rate more realistic.

I honestly haven't bothered. I still find that aspect of the game silly though. It cost less to repair your equipment than it does to paint it. I mean if that's the case just remove that mechanic from the game if they can't be bothered to adjust it, or at least explain why they have it like that.

2.7 hours of using the four row vegetable harvester repaint cost is $127,386 and that was for 4.5 acre field with some sitting around. There is no excuse for this level of incompetence. How many years should a vehicle get before it needs to be repainted and what would that cost. I would think ten years or more for an extensive paint job. The main body shouldn't need repainting for fifteen to twenty I would think. Any farmers with large equipment experience?

There you go. But it only deals with the pricing side of the question.

The repaint is they take the tractor apart strip the paint off re oil everything and replace some worn parts tractor is as good as new.

It could do with a wear time option.

Repaint is stupid expensive IRL too, but IRL a paint job lasts for years. In game one day
