Two things : Seasons, and the new "disaster" settings. You can turn both off and take all the fun out of the game.
You can turn the disaster thing toi "visual only" as a compromise.
And i want say for 100% sure that seasons in game do the same as the brilliant Seasons mod where you *will* randomly lose crop in some patches, or even a Whole fields.
Affirmative, only way i was able to get rid of mine is painting over them and plowing them.
Else they just stay there forever and get more and more, had 7 at one point in one small field, which pretty much reduced its yield to about half.
What you suggested, then it kept making more and more patches. I don't know why but thank you for trying to help.
The patches are clearly a bug tho, I doubt there is any way to make them stop appearing, besides maybe turning off all the gameplay mechanics, but then I might as well stop playing :D
