Add AI from fs22
Is it possible to add the older ai? like a legacy version of it. I think this new ai is dumber than ever and it often causes more headache than before. Make AI great again, thanks

Odd shaped fields are for grass. Farmers DO make fun of inexperienced farmers that can't make squared fields with perfect rows!
Wrong. You make fields to maximise the land-usage. You want every square meter you can get.
Only doing "perfect square" is huge waste of land.
You still want toi keep it fairly straight lines though, and avoid sharp turns if possible.

can't even start the field myself, and finish on worker if i want. because the worker will start from the beginning

Yeah i can only agree..the new AI is dumb as f....k. Sure it often starts in the middle but like "Blackers" also said...The AI skips alot of the field depending on what machine it uses.

The AI starts where you told it too. Or rather you did not tell the AI to not start with the up/ down rows.
Also it want skip anything unless the headland setting is wrong. Always HOLD H / (B) too check the settings.

Prayers to courseplay devs releasing to Fs25 very soon

As cute as these "bring back the old helpers" threads are, this is the new way and you'd better get used to it. Giants is never bringing that old system back.

I've plowed, cultivated, fertilised, seeded and harvested 100 fields by now. The new AI has done the job properly every single time.

When people claim AI doesn't work on some machines, maybe they need to tell everyone what 'some things' are so we can test and confirm.. or offer solutions.

I mean wow. The new worker AI is fantastic to me. Way better than it ever has been! I can put an AI on a field and go do something else now with no problem. I haven't had one fail me yet!

In fs 22 they failed all the time lol.

While I do admit the old system for simple farming was adequate and the CoursePlay add-on did a great job where FS22 didn't, I think Giants have tried to meet players halfway by introducing headers into their AI.

In my opinion, the main reason for headers was to be able to do rows without fouling up on fences, trees, or roads. This is why I prefer large square fields where the trees are several meters away from the actual field. I have broken the AI several times with the default large plows on the Riverside map near the cow fence. My tractor and plow just do continuous 360s.

I find CoursePlay superior to any system that Giants has developed so far, and I would guess it will be under development and a popular download when it's released.

For those struggling with the new system, I suggest you persist and try to learn how it operates and remembers previous paths. This way, you'll have better success when you go to use it.

Wait until you put AI to do sugerbeet, it does 100 turns on every corner

The new AI is almost certainly better for most situations once you realize how it works. However, how it works isn't exactly intuitive.. and it's also complete garbage for situations where you've already started a job and want the AI to take over. It just.. won't do that. It'll go drive through your crops in random directions and destroy everything instead.

The old AI could at least just take over from you at any point you wanted and it'd start going up and down the rows from anywhere. If you've got a simple rectangular field with plenty of space at the ends to turn around.. that's all the AI you need.

I'd really like both options.

AFAIK courseplay will come out for FS 25 at some point. Maybe that will work better in your situation. I used to have to wait for courseplay to come out whenever a new FS dropped because the worker AI was so bad. 25 is the first one I have been able to play from the start because the worker AI is decent.

If you think it is better than before then try using AI on a potatoe field. They are missing everything even after messing with the options. The AI sucks, people who say its better are silly.
El Malo Nov 15, 2024 @ 9:27pm
NO, The new one is much much better, sure, not as good as CoursePlay, but the AI out of the box is not too bad, just needs little adjustments. I like it better than the dumb old AI of the past.
