Massive FPS dip after cutting trees

Few hours into my save, wanted to clear some trees around the farm area to clear it up (American map). Was cutting the trees into smaller logs to transport them. I've not had any performance issues, usually around 80 - 100fps but after cutting a portion went under the map and now my game is stuck on 3/4 fps.

I've tried to reload the game but still same issue. so seems I need to restart from scratch again :(

Same issue for me, I was loading logs into a wood chipper and my FPS dropped to a slideshow. I have 1 save slot so the only option seems to be starting a new game.

Try disabling foliage shadows. It tends to help.
