Is it just me, or does the game feel empty of variety of vehicles and tools? (Discussion)
I wasn't expecting a lot of stuff to be added over to 25. Don't get me wrong, I'm LOVING the game as it is, but does anyone think giants software needs to add a content update to bring over base game content vehicles and tools from fs 19 and 22? I'm not sure if people will be able to make mod versions of the base game items from those two games and bring them into farming simulator 25. for example, we had PLENTY of small, medium, and large harvesters, tractors, and tools to choose from in Farming simulator 19 and 22. Granted, some were included later as official mods by giants software. Mabie we will start seeing content updates, like we did in both 19 and 22 that remedy the issue later in the first month, but does anyone that currently play the game kinda have the same feeling?

There is a comparison on reddit. FS25 hasnt much less content than other versions.
FS25 at launch has 137 vehicles and 400 tools. FS22 had 130 vehicles and 398 tools at launch.

Giants mentioned amongst other thing on the launch Stream, that basegame content size was due to console slots limitations.

As @WillowRivers points out so well there is the licensing issue. It seems many players do not consider this.

I am sure we will see more name brands added as the seasons progress.

As to mods I would guess anyone can make a mod of a name brand vehicle as long as they in no way benefit financially from said mod.
I understand the licensing issue, racing games share that same issue too, but does the license only affect certain models they got approved for or the brand name as a whole? If it's as a whole, I fail to understand why they didn't add the other models under the approved brand license.
Well thats in the decision of the brand itself if it want to get some $$$ for every single part or if they sell their whole corporate identity as a license.

Some are greedy and some not.

Yeah, that's true, like I said when I posted this post. I just wanted to discuss if I wasn't the only one who kinda felt the same way. I do like the game as a whole, but it would be nice that they bring some base content from at least 22 into 25 as content updates. If I recall, even though we have Kubota, I only counted 1 tractor and the UTV vehicles. I know it's not a big example, but hopefully you get where I'm coming from. Not trying to sound like I'm arguing, I'm just asking for everyone's opinion here.

By pure number, by usability Fs25 lack some of the most used tractors and implement that was present before.
I don't think Fendt out of the blue dropped the license for the 500, most of the New Holland combines and tractors, half the windrows/tedders, cultivators, subsoilers, sedders and planters. There might be sligtly more overall, but there are way more less practically.

That's what I was meaning, the most used tools, tractors, and implements seem to be gone. I hope they do game content updates like they have previously if anyone remembers when they did that, I'm not just referring to DLC. Sure they added tools, etc. to accommodate the new crops and jobs, BUT they sacrificed a majority of popular tools like you said. Hopefully GIANTS will remedy this a bit before modders have to intervene and pick up the slack, which I am extremely grateful for the modding community that dedicates their time and effort to bring these tools to life in these games.

Browsing the tedders vanilla Fs22 had like 4 or 5 attachable before the trailed ones, Fs25 have two small then jump directly to the 7/8m, the small 3m seeder it's on the modhub instead like the Kuhn 4m ss, i mean, why?
They added a motocycle and a Skoda car, nice and they grow the vehicle list, but at the price of more famous and used vehicles and implements.
More planned dlcs? Hope's not the case.

If you're like me, I only require 2 sizes of each equipment in this game. The one I start with and the one I finish with. I flog my original equipment to death while banking up, then I go straight to the top, relying on the new efficiencies to pay the leases/loans until I can buy outright if I even go that way. Pretty much like it's done in RL actually.
I mean your not wrong, but it's nice to have a variety of types to use on the game.
i sure do miss small equipment yes and historic, maybe some modders will fix that, can take weeks , months..in the meantime i do enjoy the game

That's the problem, "modders will fix it" wile charging full price for a somehow lesser experience than before instead of a better one.

Enjoying it so far, the AI is a bit janky at times, particularly vehicle deliveries, and the small wood mill seems to need balancing, it's somehow too slow, and too lucrative. Contracts need a bit of a boost. I am pulling ~150k a year out of the start farm, fairly casually, a few grand seems low.
