We need smaller maps with worse machines and less to do and I am not kidding!
There are all these small tractors both in game ones and the ones on the modhub which get almost no real use aside from being cheap toys to mess with and I would LOVE to have a map prime for these things complete with lots of laughably small fields to harvest. This is doubly so for older equipment which on average is not only smaller and worse but also BRIMMING with a lot more personality too and history.

We need smaller maps with more dated structures and locational themes and more mediocre paying jobs so not only are you using these underused and under-appreciated machines, but you also would get to feel the weight of each dollar you earn and spend compared to the likes of some bigger machines where a quarter of a million or more is considered "cheap".

(not to say the in game economy is bad in any way, I just find purchases more impactful when you have less money overall and said money on average gets you less. Like buying a "newer" tractor to replace the one you have been using since the start and the difference being at most 15 horsepower and a different wheel set). Plus if you still wanna do big stuff with larger equipment later you can always just link fields together with a plow or something (which is how it should be honestly, buying a lotta small fields bit by bit over time and chaining them together feels more gratifying).

Who else agrees?

P.S: Please recommend me any maps you know of that do have this kind of play style

I think that would be great, especially dated stuff. It would also be interesting if someone managed to mod out horse or oxen drawn equipment as well.
Play more European maps. Smaller equipment is required on any map with a lot of built up terrain and dense undergrowth.
+1 also love little equipment (@ least for "starting")

soon, i gonna give "Ujret" a try:

the fields looking reasonable small.
Outside of ModHub there are some small and tiny maps, not that much as i would like as it was for 19 and 22, but i've seen some quite old maps ported.
Some hero converted the Small Poland map from FS19, the one with a couple of acres total of land.
There are plenty of mod maps, particularly European, that feature small fields and rustic surroundings.
Try the map "Hallig Luttenland".
Been saying that for YEARS. Not mod maps, default maps.
I live in a country where farming is everywhere. inc arable and dairy. Farmers have livestock on their 'doorstep' -not miles away in fields. They also choose to simplify it by having sheep or just cattle.
Also deliveries are made by firms (online) for foodstuff and equipment -YOU don't go out an buy it!
The only time farmers are on the roads is to vets, sell/buy some stock at market.

There's also the Forestry aspect. Which should be -again- collected and driven by NPCs for taking logs to mills etc. Course Play is only good for so long, plus you have to drive it all the time for new routes.
You would think FS# would have sorted AI out and don't even go to how *rubbish* Far Sim 22 plotting is.....
have you tried to use AutoDrive since you can map out the area manually and then have it drive from point A to point B without doing it manually first
@Snaz
Perhaps try the Polanki map. I´m in the 12th year now.
The orange numbers are mine and as you can see the simple rectangular layout of the map make it easy to form bigger fields out of these 0,5-2ha fields with your growing farm.

Lipinky is a nice small/medium sized map.
FS22 had a lot of nice small polish farms, i hope some will be ported someday.
I tried but it's too much of an hassle.
The Polish map "Cybuchowo" has a lot of small fields, and is a perfect map to work on with "oldtimers", that is the main reasson i play on that map, and you get a lot of extre crops with it too.

But indeed, older machines, older farm buildings etc. are all missing, most if not all is modern or hyper modern.

Would be nice to milk cows on the field in a walkthrough milking unit, and then bring you milk back to your farm, then when fall comes you have to take your cows to your "old" barn where they stand next to each other on a chain, with a ditch behind that catches the poo etc, and takes it out onto the manure heap. Place a block of grass silage and Mais silage into the barn and some bix, as we used in the old days. Could also be made into a nice DLC pack.
Maybe they can put in a Deutz D25s and or a Deutz 6207c.
Polanki, Lipinki and all the other Polish maps are good for smaller machines .
Yes with the last Update also the Polanki map got 10 or 12 new fruits and crops.
i agree, Majority of Maps, are all Flat and squares... and it sort of killing the vibe and i also like to see more Hilly and irregular fields and more denser forests and trees and more foliages
You guys are funny. I think these are micro maps already compared to what I'm surrounded by. The LARGE tractors in the game are mandatory for the field sizes around my house. Central US prairie states have fields in the thousands of acres not topping out at 13-15. I get to wake up at dawn and watch a Quadra-Trac work the same field the entire day. So, I get it, my own land is small and I have a compact tractor that works it just fine, however, the maps in the current game are small to me.
I know Europe and Asia have smaller plots, more hills and valleys, etc. Yes, but with the ability to make your own using the Editor, go for it. Build what you want. It'll take you a while but you could break up the existing map plots if you like, make the terrain more intense, give it a whirl, you might find a new fun thing to do.
