Ground deformation
I seen a post somewhere saying that you can change a xml file to increase it. Im just curious to where that file is located and what to change. Thanks in advance

There are a couple of mods that do this, a 2x and a 5x more deformation.
i have 5x but it sucks any way because the wheels do not sink in; they hoover in the air over the surface.
The whole ground deformation is very bad in this game, imo !
Also AWD is always on and diff locks are all automatic.

I have to agree with kubanskiloewe's disappointment in ground deformation. For Giant's hype, the result is extremely underwhelming.

I wish they would have dedicated that development time to something useful, like crop moisture. From my observations of RL farming videos, farmer don't seem to have much issue with tearing their land up, but moister seems to be a constant struggle.

yep , moisture + crop rotation are substantional

best part with this whole deformation BS, is how they made it one of the selling points of the game, only to nerf A LOT in first patch (removing it completely from AI).
Now it just looks stupid

I might be off base with this assumption and over assuming my own preferences, but I think that the FS series, ATS/ETS, and the Mudrunner/Spintires/Snowrunner series all attract a similar fan base.

It's difficult to compare FS to any other farm game because it's so vastly superior. But I've played Snowrunner, and they do deformation well. And it's super popular game.

It's fine to half ass some farming aspect that there's no clear comparable to, but they should have realized that their deformation system isn't on the level that their fans are used to experiencing, and needed some more time in the over.

Deformation worked ok at launch. Not much but at least it was some "tracks" made and vehicles reacted to the deformation, even AI left deformation, not as deep as player but at least it looked more "real".
Still no difference between hard soil, wet soil, "mud", snow. All ground behaves the same. Pretty week.

I just played the Roadcraft demo.

Nuff said.

for those complaining about the ground deformation and compare it snowrunner and those have no clue. Those games focus on one thing. Thats your tire physics only.

You can not do any farming in mudrunner the game would turn your computers into bricks if they even worked at all.

If anyone remembers when FS25 first released the biggest complaint was the ground deformation made my tractor stuck, therefore it sucks. They altered how it works and toned things down so its almost gone. AI and multiplayer there is no ground deformation.

No one figured out the ground reacted differently to the different tires. And people still have no clue the tires react different during rain.

Maybe giants needed to hand hold everyone before release and explain exactly how it worked so players could defeat it from the start.

Now I do not like it because to me ground deformation means I can take my equipment and dig holes in the ground, or build ponds and terraces, have water fill up in the drainage ditches and fill with mud that needs to be dug.....

So I guess that means I am in the this game sucks because it dont do what I want.

Cant wait for mudrunner, snowrunner, expidtions, road craft to add farming.

Road craft is so great you have ai to build roads wahoo........

A lot of the complaints may have been resolved if Giants added a toggle for the mud for all platforms instead of just one of the consoles.

I compare Snowrunner because it's the current standard in ground deformation, not because I want that for FS. That would be a mess, because it's too extreme far for FS's needs. The problem with FS deformation is it doesn't do anything at all. Even at release, if you didn't try to do something in the rain, you were seldom impacted.

The only time I ever took notice is when I drove a semi onto a field and it went slow.

It's just half baked. FS, I supposed due to rising console popularity over the course of the series, more and more are presenting new ideas, in a dumbed down form.
yes its not even half baked.
And for me this is beside all the agriculture and farming also a big thing to get some feeling what you are doing with what machine at what surface.
This Snow Runner ,which i also have, is just aracde. I reinstalled Spintires and noticed they implemented tire pressure control which do a effect as well as tire choice. Throttle input and the right gear to get the most traction out of your setting. This old Sim is still top notch in this and beside this id offers a superb physics all around , different ground deformings, resistance and still the graphics when driving through water f.e is great !

Mudrunner is the best of them with its improved mud physics and some other tweaks. But yes, Pavel did *real* good with Spintires.
Snowtires is so dumbed down its stupid.
no; i have MudRunner too; its more Arcade than Spintires because you can drive through and wont get stuck; in Spintires you easily get stuck !
But i agree MudRunner is more advanced in Online Play and better camera control.
