How to make ai worker drive their trailer next to my harvester

or how to make ai worker controlled harvestor ignore trailer requirements, and only fill trailer standing nearby once its internal storage is full

Cannot be done. Have AI harvest and when it is almost full then pull next to it to empty it. Best you can do with the base game system.

ok thank you for your reply, btw i'm only playing base game, no mods,

so here is my problem, i've taken this contract to harvest carrots, (i leased equipment as i dont have my own), now i would want to have to drive only one vehicle and let me ai worker, do the other task, so i can finish it in reasonable time, i've given ai control of the harvestor however it stops after getting in position (i think its waiting for me to drive trailer besides it), i've tried driving trailer besides it, and oh boy its hell of a job, the leased equipment trailer is too high for this harvestor and i'm never able to drive besides continously, as soon as i get far from it it stops again, and to re-align myself with harvestor i've to do a big circle to come around only to get away from it (not able to match speed direction)


i would have been much happier if i was driving the harvestor and ai worker drove the trailer to collect harvest

Like you I took a root veg contract and found the AI harvester a disaster. So, I did the harvesting and loaded the trailer (used my own smaller trailer than the contracted one for the same reason as you found) as needed, but I used an AI worker to deliver to the end point (processing factory, I think) and return, allowing me to continue harvesting in its absence. Once I got into the flow it was workable enough, but I won't be doing anymore root veg that is for sure.

same here Angeris, i did found some workable "workarounds", i allowed my ai worker to run the harvester, (boy it suck at it), and then i tried again driving my big leased trailer next to it, this time i had more success by using trailer cruise controll and matching the harvestor speed (you are able to increase/decrease cruise speed by pressing 1/2) that allowed me to collect harvest atleast in straight lines, (may be only ask ai harvester to harvest straight lines and not headlands), the harvester still sucks in a sense that it will not do free movements to get into position for next row without my providing entourage (sad emoji here), i have to matach toe to toe when its turning/getting into position for next straight row, still overall miserable expereience

btw i was also able to alleviate trailer height problem by manually moving the conveyer belt thing on harvester, it was kinda in middle by default, i used right mouse click to move to maximum height, and then i was able to drive big trailer next to it without hitting it every now and then

For roots and veggies i use only modded harvesters, ROPA (yellow) (ROPA Tiger Multifruit) have a HIGH pipe default so it works great with auger trailers.
Now AI drive the harvester, i the augerwagon, and AI runs deliveries.

I just have an AI helper drive the truck to the end of the field for me to pause and unload into.
