Quick question about flooding fields after harvesting
So I noticed I can flood the fields after cultivating the fields for next harvest. Does flooding need to be done at this time or only when crops are planted?

Wet rice? Then cultivate after harvest, wait until you can plant in april, flood and directly plant while flooding. If you have set to 1 day per month you have to flood additional 2 months, then wait until august and harvest is ready.

Did not do long corn yet

Long corn? :-)
I am about to do long rice myself. I have heard you flood before planting for one of the version and after for other. So option might show up to flood as there 2 ways to plant.

From german translated it would be long-corn rice. However, it seems to be only long rice as you name it :P

Technically the game only allows you to flood when it´s possible and required. That means for 1 day per month and wet rice it´s the first 3 months to flood it. After that flooding is even grayed out until you harvested it.
Hehe was only teasing you.

I think as havent started yet.. need get game to let me place the darn ice field :-/ But I know one is planted while unwatered. And other is done while flooded. So has to let you flood more often. But thats from reading posts not trying it myself. Tried turning couple of my fields into rice paddies BUT wouldnt let me due to height differences? So found a pretty flat field imma buy once get the equipment. And try to do long grain "corn :-)" rice hehe

I first was a bit afraid of the small wet rice harvester as it´s the same size and speed as the sugarcane harvester.....and sugarcane is ....boring.
But the rice harvester has a grain tank and auger so harvesting is pretty well to do, at last it feels fun to me.
The planting is....annoying, did it one time and now the helper can do it for the rest of fs25 productcycle :P

Long rice is already harvested and cleared out.

I then Mulched the next month and cultivated. Not sure both were needed.

With nothing planted the next month it allowed me to flood with nothing planted. Not sure if it helps the bonus.

Ill remember that. About to try rice soon. But saving up taking longer then expected due to % bonuses to yield not adding up :-/

Rice - Flood to plant and flood each month till harvest. Must use rice planter & rice harvester
Long Grain Rice - Flood after shoots appear and for the next 2 months. Uses any planter & normal harvester.
