Cheats not working?

Is it true you can't have cheats working in an already ongoing game? Currently running a server with just a friend and I... have -cheats in both my Steam Launch option and also in the Target within a shortcut on my desktop, but still can't get them working. I got the console working... but not sure if I need to start a fresh game on the server for them to work or what the issue might be.

They are working but you have to be logged in as admin on a dedicated server to us the cheat-commands.

I thought I tried that, but appreciate the reply and I'll give it a shot later on.

Logged in as Admin and none of the commands would even show. Like I tried a simple gsPalletAdd and also gsWeatherTwisterSpawn and both kick back saying: command not found

Some people just want to play around with big stuff and are not interested in "growing" the farm.

Personally not my thing, but I'm not going to judge either. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun and they are not hurting anyone.
