Settings won't save

Bought the game from giants.
Can't change resolution without the game crashing and resetting all settings to default.
Same with language, hdr and fps limit.
Even when editing the game.xml the game still refuses to accept any settings except the default settings.

Any idea on how to fix this or is this just poor programming?

Check you don't have Onedrive backup for the documents folder on, if it is on, set it off.

Yea, found a second game.xml file which was set to read-only and that prevented settings from being saved.
It was found in "My Games/Farming Simulator 2025".
You need to rightclick the file and go to properties.
Then make sure the box next to read only is empty
