What competition there are no other farming games that are actual simulation style, but yeah there are a few non-simulation farming games and most of those are more arcade style.
You whine about not having competitors for FS and C&C was first hyped because the people making the courseplay mod are developing it and then dumped after release. Because people did hate on it like on FS, and they did not make enough sales.
There will be literaly NO competitor ever in a niche, thats filled with a more or less decent simulation game, because nobody wan't to take the risk pumpin millions in a game to just get bad reviews because it misses a single quirck the FS has (like lesser vehicles than FS).
Thats gamers nowadays. You can do what you want, they always find something to complain. 7 out of 10 complaints are mostly nonesense or just the players fault because he is not capable of understanding basics in computers e.g. that one topic here in FS25 claiming FS25 made his 3080 explode.
Yes, we should not take every crap for granted, but a lot of complaints are on a level out of reality like "i cannot open my window", just wtf?!
I said yesterday to my firend who is software developer. I would not want to develop games in these years because 80% of gamers today are simple just little brats. So better stick to business software. In the early 2000 i gladly would have develop games.
This topic complaining of not having a day one patch. But no one considered that maybe they had one but on the last day it showed to brick savegames so the did not release it and need more time.
"But then they could delay the game" - yes and than 2/3 gamers would complain how they dare to delay a game they preordered. Like in the last years happend e.g. Cyperpunk 2077 the hate got bigger for every delay. Or Vampire Bloodlines 2
Giant's patching methodology:
- Game breaking bugs (contracts that don't work, repeatable crashes, similar) will get patched 1 month after release.
- 2-3 months after release they will make a pass at trying to fix performance issues and tweaking some models. If it fixes it, great, otherwise, at least they tried
- Patch within a week or on paid DLC release day.
- Hot fixes are extremely rare
