How do we Turn off NPC's including Grandpa

I'm not using them. Grandpa standing on my lawn constantly staring at me is getting on my breasticles.. I want to turn them off please. How?

Sell the farm and build a new one somewhere else maybe? Hopefully he wont appear at your new farm.
