How to grow back meadow grass? (Cows)
I have a small cow pasture with the meadow grass. It's always at zero percent, so I thought I would move the cows to see if it grew back. It has not. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get the meadow grass to grow back again?

If it's not growing back then I suppose you could repaint it with meadow grass.

I thought of it, but when I tried to paint it said "Restricted Area". So you can't paint it back manually unfortunately :/

I want to know this too. The same is happening to me, in Riverbend Springs or whatever it's called.

They do not grow back, they are a temporary food source that only sustain you animals for a short time. Kinda silly. You can delete the pen and build a new one but that's really the only way to get the meadow back after it's depleted.

That is just plain silly. I wonder if you move the cows to a new pen the meadow grass will grow back when they not there.

Testing time!

Update....

15 minutes later....guess you can't move them from one meadow to another. Unless you need a trailer to do that.

Update... You actually can move animals between pastures with a trailer, but i don't know if the meadow will grow back if left empty.

Wow, that's really dumb of them. In real life we rotate the cows from pasture to pasture so the grass can grow back, while also feeding some bales. Such a wasted opportunity for realism.

Anyone tried to install the "Build Anywhere" mod ( its out in Kingsmods ) and use it to "repaint" the grass inside the pasture?

What the heck. That is really stupid.
even in real life the grass newer stops growing, though it do take quite some time when its constantly being chewed on.
I hoped the meadow thing would be something you used as a "summer field" and coudl move the animals between a couple of meadows for the grass too re-grow.

Guess i want be using those before mods fixes it.

For Giants to put it in game I would think this will be fixed eventually. Dynamics pastures is a big part of the new features.

These animals in the pastures basically become useless. No production from them. I guess they can reproduce though.

What? You don't get milk, wool from them? What the heck is the point in these pastures then?

Yep...no milk production (i am 99% certain) Saw it mentioned twice somewhere. Haven't tried it myself as i am still tweaking things and testing since release.

Maybe someone else can verify.

Hope that is a "bug".
Im staying off animals for the time being (/except a few chickens i bought for the starter farm "free range" coop.)

Read the animal pen descriptions carefully. Some of them state they are breeding pens only and will not produce milk.

I didn't say anything about milk. I'm fine with them being just for breeding/feeding beef cows. That's actually what I want to do. But I think it's stupid that the grass doesn't grow back. It's not like if you'd mown your lawn once, the grass would disappear forever.

There is a video out there that adresses this and also have a solution.
TLDR, have grass already where you want to build the pasture and when asked to seed the pasture with meadow grass say no.
