How do you unfold the lights on the back of the Challanger tractor that you start with?

ive probably spent 20 min trying to get these lights to unfold. tried with and without the cultivator attached and must have passed over it in the key binding.

simply press the light butten (standard F) 3x ?
(standard) CTRL + F > headlight

You don´t "unfold" them. They unfold when you change the tractor to the width that requires these lights unfold - that means you have to change tyres to double ones.
