I thought it was just me doing something wrong.

It works like that now. You can hold H to customize how the worker will operate but you don't have to. Just pull into a field and hit H. then go off and do something else. At least mine haven't been getting stuck in trees and creeks anymore, like they used too.

Tbh I thought they were bugging out at first, because they always went to the middle of the field... then I realized they do the inside of the field first, and then the headland.
And at least for plowing with the second plow they do 7 rows (not sure if this changes depending on the size of the field).
After leaving the npc to do it's thing they did everything correctly...

I know. So tough to have to long press a button, 2-3 seconds, then take a look just to make sure things are how you want, another 2-3 seconds then click one more button to confirm, 1 second maybe. Then hit one more button to have them do what you want them to. A grand total maybe of about 10 seconds. That is even stretching it. But hey you do you. Hope you never have to set up Courseplay or heavens forbid Autodrive. You can change if they start on the headland or on the rows. You can even change the amount of headlands they do, to a minimum, if so desired.

It gave me grief a few times them started working. And it is working beautifuly now. Did you start with the tutorial? That may have something to do with that.

is anyone else having problems with the controller or wheel not working in game but it does in the settings

New AI is so much better than the last games, just takes a bit to get used to how it works.

Keep pressing H for 3 seconds, field center and headland are seperated tasks for the AI worker now.

First time I tried using the AI (in the tutorial) I just went to the border of the field and pressed H, the AI started plowing where he was, and then stopped and went to the middle of the field. So it was kinda weird...
After that I started doing the field orders through the map and didn't have any more issues...

I also just realized that you can set the AI to start with headland or the middle of the field in the H menu.

I disagree. I just joined 3,4 and 5 on Riverbend, gave the plow to AI and it recognised the new field, with new headlands and rows set perfectly. One field had already been plowed, it was finished dead square with headlands and is being left alone by AI on second pass.

Working an absolute treat.
