B button not working on controller

I've changed the steam input to default and have enabled it and I can't get it to work. I have also switched to a different template to see if that would fix it and nothing works. I can't seem to figure out how to make it work for my worker AI and so I can use the new steering assist feature or GPS as they call it in the community! Has anyone found a fix? My ps5 controller has the same issue. My main controller i use is a Fly Digi Apex 4. Seem to only have issues with it on this game only. other games it works great.

I have the same issue with my XBox controller. The B button works just not for workers or to get to the steering assist. I have to use H on the keyboard.

Other bug I found is on the second and third map I can't switch between tractor and the tool I'm using. Y on controller doesn't work and the G on keyboard doesn't work. First map it seems to work fine

go in and delete you inputbindings.xml in the main game directory and it should work it worked for me

Yep, that only got my controller partially working. I deleted everything and am re-installing. I think it's because I had my wheel and shifter plugged in when I first started the game.

Deleting the inputbindings.xml did get the B button working for me, it just didn't get the trigger buttons working when I was in a vehicle and I couldn't shift.

I use PS5 controller and randomly it works or dond. usually the thumbsticks and movement in the menu. it works with disable steam imput. But some buttons don't work for certain task.

Radio commands are not shows, So is throwing, but Its mapped on "square button" but it does not work.
and steering assist has no button assaigned , i don't know what button i could map.

Anyone with luck on this. My b button just stopped for ai mod as well.

I tried:

Configuring the controls in the game

Configuring the controls via Steam Input

Deleting the inputbinding.xml folder (the folder contained many files, I deleted them all)

After deleting, I verified the game files

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game


At each step, I obviously tested in-game, and nothing works for me.

I should mention that I also updated the controller via Xbox Accessories on the Windows Store.

I’m having all the same issues you are. I can’t seem to find a fix and I’m usually good at figuring this stuff out but but with this damn game had the same issues in FS22 as well never could get the controllers to work right. They really need to reprogram it from scratch and update it to work with all the controllers out including dual sense as well. Controller support for this game sucks

I would like to add that my partner (who also plays the game) also has an Xbox One controller for PC, purchased more recently, and since the first launch of the game, she hasn't had any issues. All the buttons work perfectly.

im having the same issue on the Steam Deck, the B button would stop working, i also cant place thing in the construction menu using A, i had to map one of the back buttons as mouse click, but it still doesn't work

I use a flydigi apex 4 with Hall effect sticks and it doesn’t recognize it even thought it’s an Xbox controller. Blows my mind and the few times it does recognize it, it works wonderfully until it doesn’t

Reinstalling worked for me. I also unplugged my steering wheel and shifter when I started it up the first time. Xbox controller now works perfectly.
