I used the game ultra settings, then added 200% terrain and 200% foliage LOD and activated DLSS.
Nothing else
I have everything up to date, and nothing has changed except FS25 getting an update. Not it doesn't seem to wanna utilize my system resources anymore.
Are you able to get like 95% GPU utilization or better?
Its like im running a performance vehicle with all my fuel lines half crimped off. The capabilty is there, but im just not pulling enough juice.
Cause low fps looks bad, and feels choppy/jarring when its only pushing maybe 60fps some times. If it was only dropping to like 75-80fps at the lowest or staying steady around there, i could just kinda deal with it, but wouldn't mean its not still a problem. But 75fps is about the lowest I'm willing to play at. Sometimes ill play at 80fps on games if I cant hold a high stable framerate, and VRR/Gsync is causing issues for some reason. And in that case ill lock to my 160hz monitor to half rate. But in THIS case, I'm not even getting 75, let alone 80fps. Anything lower than 75fps is a bad experience. Sure, i could make an exception if frames were fluctating bnetween 65-75fps, if the game was an EXTRAORDINARY, life changing experience, or maybe a retro game with the 60hz engine limitations, but those are basically never the case.
I checked my 13900k core usage while the game was running and there where 4 cores maxed out and a lot of them not even being used. So it is a cpu bottleneck and thats why frame gen is so much better because it bypasses the cpu.
I am using DLAA, but weirdly my performance increases by about 3-4% using DLAA over DLSS quality. As for an update, they game was pretty ♥♥♥♥ at launch, with weird stutters and hangs, but I would be mostly between 100-120 fps at 4k max settings with DLAA. Now I'm not getting as many dips and swings, but my overall fps average has basically been halved.
If I get in a machine and use the in cab view, I can listen to my fans throttle down, and my wattage draw drops WAY down to about only double my idle wattage, and my frames drop to like 30-40fps. Just outside walking around, I'm making out at around 65% GPU usage, and it won't go any higher, meaning my fps never goes higher than the 70s.
I tried just leaving the game running for 30min, not touching anything, after flying around the map, hoping it was caching issues. Nothing changed though. Even just looking at the ground, it doesn't change anything with performance, and the framerate stays stuck low.
Game wasn't playable before the update, just running weird, screen flickering black, textures flashing white, contracts unable to be finished, stuff falling through the map. But now, seems good at first glance, without large swings and dips in framerate, no flashing/flickering, no crashes, etc. My framerate is just like, not right. It's like my game is no longer able to utilize my system fully. Like it thinks I'm running with only a 4070 or something, and won't draw any more wattage or utilize any more resources than that.
