Only 60-70fps at 4k max...
RTX 4090, i9 14900ks, 96gb DDR5-6600, and I'm getting framerates in the range of like 55 to 75 fps. Often it's between like 65-70. I'm watching my resource utilization, and my GPU usage is like equivalent to my framerate fluctuation. I'm only hitting like 50-65% GPU utilization, and like 5-15% CPU utilization. I'm only drawing around 400w-450w total system power draw. I have plenty of headroom left for more performance, but the game just doesn't seem to wanna fully utilize system resources.

I tried going into construction mode and flying around the map to see if maybe caching all the map would help, but I lose a bunch of frames doing that. And it's not like my system is struggling in the slightest. In fact, it's the opposite. When flying around in construction mode, I'll drop way down to like 30 some fps, but my GPU usage will also drop down into the 30-40% range, and my wattage draw drops.

Before the update, i could always be at 90%+ GPU utilization, and a locked framerate. Going into first person view in equipment, my GPU usage drops down into the 40s, and my framerate tanks, now. Even if I just leave it sit for a while and come back to the game, without moving/looking or anything, GPU usage will still be in the mid 40s, and under 60fps. My system is like dead silent, and fans are barely even moving, with CPU around 40°, and GPU around 50°.

Have you looked at all the cpu cores while playing. I think they might have one core that is maxed out because if you use FSR3 and frame gen it run at about 170 fps tops at 4k maxed out even with my 13900k.

4k with 4090 + 64 gig 6400 + R9 7950 X3D i get 144 fps with small drops to 130 when much dust is around.

Is that with frame gen because without it I only get about 70 to 80 fps.

I used the game ultra settings, then added 200% terrain and 200% foliage LOD and activated DLSS.
Nothing else

Naw, I'll have to bring up my core usage and see what threads are being utilized. Although, the game ran like ♥♥♥♥ before the update, but I had my my framerate locked to 90 in the game, and it shuttered and had drops, but it pretty much stayed locked at that 90%, and my GPU was around 80% utilization. I could unlock it and hit 120 at 4k with everything maxed out and no frame gen or upscaling, but it wasn't stable, so I could put DLSS quality on, and lock it to 120, or run native + DLAA locked to 90.

I have everything up to date, and nothing has changed except FS25 getting an update. Not it doesn't seem to wanna utilize my system resources anymore.

Are you able to get like 95% GPU utilization or better?

4090 as well? Sounds like me. I'm only getting like 70fps with everything native, and like 40fps in cab. But my system isnt even being taxed. I thought "damn, they really optimized stuff" when i first started up after the update, cause i was only drawing a 250-275 watts total system power. But then i noticed my frames and resource utilization, and it was just like the game was only pulling like half the power it should to run properly, so way easier on my system, but runs terribly due to simply not properly utilizing my hardware.

Its like im running a performance vehicle with all my fuel lines half crimped off. The capabilty is there, but im just not pulling enough juice.

Why do you need more than that?

Cause low fps looks bad, and feels choppy/jarring when its only pushing maybe 60fps some times. If it was only dropping to like 75-80fps at the lowest or staying steady around there, i could just kinda deal with it, but wouldn't mean its not still a problem. But 75fps is about the lowest I'm willing to play at. Sometimes ill play at 80fps on games if I cant hold a high stable framerate, and VRR/Gsync is causing issues for some reason. And in that case ill lock to my 160hz monitor to half rate. But in THIS case, I'm not even getting 75, let alone 80fps. Anything lower than 75fps is a bad experience. Sure, i could make an exception if frames were fluctating bnetween 65-75fps, if the game was an EXTRAORDINARY, life changing experience, or maybe a retro game with the 60hz engine limitations, but those are basically never the case.

I checked my 13900k core usage while the game was running and there where 4 cores maxed out and a lot of them not even being used. So it is a cpu bottleneck and thats why frame gen is so much better because it bypasses the cpu.

Gotta wait for update, you hit the engine limitation. They will optimize the game and eventualy its will get better. You are probably using DLAA..try using DLSS high Quality or fsr.Once nvidia add profile to geforce application both post processing will handle the game much better.Nvidia have to put AI profile in order to really boots RTX card. They use their big AI computer to generate the best profile for X game with X card. Then our tiny AI card can use it via Geforce Profile tied to the game.

I am using DLAA, but weirdly my performance increases by about 3-4% using DLAA over DLSS quality. As for an update, they game was pretty ♥♥♥♥ at launch, with weird stutters and hangs, but I would be mostly between 100-120 fps at 4k max settings with DLAA. Now I'm not getting as many dips and swings, but my overall fps average has basically been halved.

If I get in a machine and use the in cab view, I can listen to my fans throttle down, and my wattage draw drops WAY down to about only double my idle wattage, and my frames drop to like 30-40fps. Just outside walking around, I'm making out at around 65% GPU usage, and it won't go any higher, meaning my fps never goes higher than the 70s.

I tried just leaving the game running for 30min, not touching anything, after flying around the map, hoping it was caching issues. Nothing changed though. Even just looking at the ground, it doesn't change anything with performance, and the framerate stays stuck low.

Game wasn't playable before the update, just running weird, screen flickering black, textures flashing white, contracts unable to be finished, stuff falling through the map. But now, seems good at first glance, without large swings and dips in framerate, no flashing/flickering, no crashes, etc. My framerate is just like, not right. It's like my game is no longer able to utilize my system fully. Like it thinks I'm running with only a 4070 or something, and won't draw any more wattage or utilize any more resources than that.

Pretty much an engine limitation probably because of how shader are being processed.Have you try to delete the cache folder?

I was testing last night and if you turn the resolution setting up from 100% to 200% it will max out your gpu unless you are still too cpu limited . If so you have to lower the draw distances until it frees up the cpu and gives you 100% gpu utilization. But if you turn the resolution setting up to 200% then you can't use frame gen because the gpu is already maxed out.
Freekson Nov 30, 2024 @ 9:57am
I have 13600kf and rtx 3070. gpu usage 60-70% and 40-60fps.. The optimization of this game is a joke.
