Contracts - Walter -
Harvesting Red Beets -
"Harvest the field and take the product to the specified selling station."

1. Took contract.
2. Borrowed equipment.
3. Harvested field with harvester.
4. Contract says 80% complete, which I attribute to the fact I haven't sold the product as described, to gain the other 20% completion.
5. Pull up to the trailer to offload the beets i to it.
6. Harvester begins the animation for offloading, then stopped at 1% or less offloading.
7. I do some testing of the options, such as raised, or lowered harvester, turning on and off harvester, different positions relative to the trailer, different height adjustments of the offloading conveyor, & everything else I can think if. Nothing changes, the harvester will not start offloading again.
8. I save, then exit, then attempt to offload into trailer again. I turn on engine, I lower harvester, I turn on harvester, I drive up beside trailer ensuring conveyor belt is aligned with top of trailer.
9. Harvester starts offloading again, and again only for a second or 3, then stops.
10. Confirmed trailer is not "full," as the harvester only put 1% i to it the first offload attempt, and the truck was empty prior to the 1st attempt.

Spent a long time harvesting that field for the contract. I'm assuming I could possibly just drive the harvester directly to the sell point to circumvent this issue/bug, but since it DID offload 1% into the trailer already, I also think the game might not give me credit for "completion" unless I also take the trailer with 1% to sell that product off as well. Just overall annoying. The game needs some bug-patching asap. However, being honest, I have enjoyed the game more than been annoyed with it, for what that's worth.
Pros: Mostly enjoyable.
Cons: FIX YOUR BUGGY GAME....
Please & Thank You....

and you are 100% sure the trailer can LOAD beets?

i would try different trailers, or drive the damned harvester to the sell point IF it can fit on roads.
The "1%" you got in a trailer shouldn't matter, you hardly ever have to harvest everything or deliver everything

It is the trailer spawned BY the game when choosing to "borrow" equipment. If it CAN'T "LOAD beets" then the game is giving me a trailer for a contract as a loaned piece of eqhipment that doesn't work for the contract. That in and of itself seems like a bug too, if that's the case. lol...
Edited to add: Not only the above, but it already loaded some beets. So, either way you look at it wrong trailer given, or game stops loading beets i to the ttailer every time after a few seconds, something is buggy.

Like I said, i can probably circumvent the bug by driving the harvester, and as you said..."if it will fit on the road" ...lol...but thet eis something broken in this one.

Update: Drove harvester to the specified selling location. Tried to offload numerous ways. I see a message under the upper-left controls area reading: "HARVESTER REQUIRES TRAILER TO OVERLOAD!" (Blame the game for the caps...I just quoted their message and capitalization).
In any case, the trailer the game refuses to offload into, is rhe one the game gave me to offload into, for the contract, as "borrowed" equipment, along with and beside the harvester, the tractor, etc. So, i'll just count this as a mission-boken bug, and move on.
I mainly just wanted it noted, visible to others, & now it is. Cancelling the mission. Counting my time as wasted in it. Moving on.
Semper Fight 0311 Nov 28, 2024 @ 4:09am
Oh one more update: Due to inability to offload i lnto trailer l, or selling point, I had to cancel mission.
The game was throughtful enough to give me a -87,000 (approximately) fee, now putting my previoys approximate 20k balance to -67k balance.
FS25...the game that keeps on giving.... rofl...
I'll just start over, this is b.s. lol.
I do find it at least somewhat comical, but not if this type of scenario continues to occur. Then i'll find it a Broken Game.

From what I have seen. The vegetable harvester doesn't store any thing inside it. You have to have the AI drive the harvester and ride beside it with a trailer. If you harvest without a trailer next to it you loose the harvest.

Just a while ago, I was thinking about that being the potential issue. I couldn't figure out why that quest would bug like that, when i've had almost no issues with any other quest. I'm still not sure, but I believe you're correct. If this is the case, then it is not beyond a reasonable request to have the game explicitly state this, so we don't waste time, or not understands that. I, only AFTER pondering on this for w while, remembered that I DIDN'T remember seeing a "percentage of storage) as I harvested, like other harvesting activities.
I don't remember all the details now, honestly, I just took it as a lesson learned, and restarted my game. Half of the enjoyment of this game, imho, is the "starting fresh" and building a good farming business. You live, you learn, right?
In any case, maybe someone else will see my post and, your post, and get some useful info. out of them.
Here, have some points...

Correct. The root harvesters have 0 storage. Oh right, except toe TINY 1 Meter wide carrot, parsnip harvester, it can hold a few liters.
Now if you can get the AI to run the "larger" harvesters, the other problem you have is finding a big enough trailer that wilkla ctually fitr Under the auger pipe, since the AI refuse too flit it up high enough.

I say go for mods. The yellow Ropa Multifruit (FS25_ROPA_Multifruit) is quite excellent. Large enough storage and the pipe is high enough for a large auger trailer.

Based upon the "horror stories" i've read about the AI not being the most...artifically "intelligent," & other factors, some you mentioned, it seems best to just avoid crops that require bots assisting, completely right now, I guess. Although, i'm still interested in the mod, so i'll probably check it out. Maybe the AI is better than reported, or maybe the devs will send them to some sort of AI Re-education Camp, to teach them the error of their ways.

AI had no issues using that harvester for me. But not all fields are the same, some really dont like AI ..

Good to know. I'll test them out.

You can adjust the pipe up before you hire the AI

you can also cancel the ai with H, move the conveyor, and start them again with H

None of the Ropa harvester mods i tryed are good. The AI refuse to work on the field with them.
