Am I missing something when it comes to assigning AI to certain jobs?
For some jobs, I get the equipment, go to the field, hire AI and they get to work (plowing, fertilizing, rock picking, etc.).

For others, such as baling, I get the equipment, go to the field, start everything up, try to hire AI and it goes to the "create job" screen instead - and then that doesn't seem to actually do anything. They get in the vehicle, move it around a little, and call the task complete.

Am I missing setup options or something? I don't get why the stupid AI can't do a simple job that's already set up and ready to go.

Nope, that's pretty much how it is.
AI got no clue about Grass work, maybe besides mowing.

Yeah, AI bailing has never been a thing, EXCEPT with the Courseplay Mod. Same with forage wagons. Reason being I assume is different harvesters space the windrow differently. You COULD try copying the harvesters work width and input that to your baler, see if the AI will follow it. Of course a baling contract you wouldn't know the width of the harvester (maybe).

AI will use the tedder and the windrower for grass work.

This is how that works. Need the same. Step for both mower and baler. Same headlands and same width.

if the equipment is at the shop. assing the ai to take the equipment to the area to be worked. Use the map to see ware the work is, select it and a pointer will ask rotation. click the button again ( dont know what it does yet). the ai should start moving to the area. once there the game will let you know and then you can jump there to activate the work. When its done go to the contracts board and complete the job. the equipment will go away and you will left at the location.

Hope this helps. been working on that for days.
