Riverbend Sawmill Layout Seems Arduous
Haven't seen anyone talking about this so hoping I'm just doing something wrong... Bought the sawmill on Riverbend and packed it with wood, then set productions going on planks, long planks, and beams all on storing. From what I can tell, there are 3-4 staging areas where product is put to be picked up and hauled away but the layout has me scratching my head on how I'm supposed to actually get the product out?
My original plan was to use a tractor with a front loader attachment but found that the areas were just too tight for the tractor I had so I took out some more money and bought the Manitou forklift thinking tighter turning radius and shorter wheelbase would be the solution...
Even with the forklift, I struggle to get into place to get a clean pickup on product, especially the long planks and beams that you have to pick up from the broad side and are often blocked by the beams supporting the roof.

I'm hoping I'm missing something or just using the wrong equipment because, as it stands, this is looking like a save killing investment. At least until mods come out with autoloaders, I think I'll start a new save.

So far its superstrength that can make that job faster unless you build production facilities close to each other and distribute locally to for example production facility Cooper. I got that sawmill too and another one distributing to Cooper and Carpentry.

Yeah, I haven't bothered enabling super strength yet but that isn't a bad option either. Unfortunately the other productions aren't much of an option for me ATM as my poor financial decisions have left me with almost maxed loans and a sawmill I can't get product out of. haha

That sawmill is a pain. The wood drop off by lake. But have to run up hill into building to find the sell trigger :-/

Don't get me wrong, the sawmill is gorgeous and fits will in the environment in which it exists but stuff like this just seems to add extra tedium to the already extremely tedious task of logging.

Oh I agree. I took time just to explore it. It looks great.. but using it a pita :-) The waterline even looks really good to me to.

I use the skid steer loader with the treads. It's ability to turn in place is invaluable to me. Just have to go very, VERY slow when lifting the load up high because of the propensity to tip.
