Equiptment/Vehicle Maintenance (Condition)
Is it just me or does vehicle maintenance/condition seem a bit extreme now? Compared to the last one I have noticed an extreme shift in how quickly items require maintenance, especially used/high hour equipment. I am all for requiring maintenance on equipment, but the costs are extraordinary, borderline excessive, especially when the game doesn't factor in any sort of benefit/break in price when conducting the maintenance at a purchased workshop building. Just my two cents on this, not sure if anyone else shares the same gripe or concerns towards a possible patch or adjustable option. I am sure this will end up becoming a mod in the near future to be able to adjust running costs.

They might have changed the rate of damage, it would be good to see a test on Youtube. I just found out that cost of repairs is exponential. Don't ever repair your vehicle at 100% damage, I paid over $20,000.

Yes it is way too fast. I'm repairing all the time.

There is a mod that you can change setting of for this. Can slightly lower the damage or turn it off or even increase it.. though why would i have no idea lol

Yes I saw a recent video where the player demonstrated that the costs are a percentage of the purchase price. It increases per the amount of damage:

Damage | Cost
__________
25% | 1%
|
50% | 3%
|
100% | 9%

I think the exponential increase concept is good, it's the rate of wear that is the problem at present. If they slowed that way down I'd be fine with getting dinged for putting off maintenance too long. At present I need to repair my vehicle more often than I need to refuel it to keep the maintenance costs reasonable, which is bonkers - it should be the other way around.

The worst part is the paint; the tractor is all scratched up after barely 10 hours...

I dont even repair anymore. I dont feel any negatives.

The rates are pretty high. Looking through the vehicle xml for a tractor, the damage modifier for field work is 5x as fast.

I had a hill in my field. And my tractor was using barely had more power then plow required. When it "broke" I noticed that tractor could not go up the hill it had done dozens of times before.

Interesting. On flat fields however I really see zero difference in power. Truely a kinda wild mechanic.

Did a bit of testing using harvesters. Combines with 100% damage reaped nearly half as much as a brand new combine with 0% damage. (140k at 100% against 230k at 0% damage)

I have an excavator with 20 hours run time on it and had to repair twice because it was at like 25% left. The second time, I drove it to get gas and repairs then drove it back to the work site. Once there, I mulched maybe 20 stumps and it had already lost 1/4 durability. Makes no sense at all and seems beyond excessive. It's not like I crashed it, ran it hard or abused it.

Apparently a visual glitch. I checked the menu and it said 97% so I decided to relog and that fixed it. Still though, 20 hours operating time with 36k in repairs seems high. I would expect a construction vehicle to not even need repairs for the first 6 months to a year unless ran insanely hard.

I am now using the Reduced Wearout mod (from modhub). Repairs are just as expensive for the same amount of damage, but the damage takes twice as long to happen. Seems just about right to me for gameplay sake.
I'm having a glitch where I don't get charged for repairs and I don't know how to fix it. I pay for the repair but my bank account never drops and it doesn't show up in my finances. Neither does repainting. No mods, vanilla version. I've tried reloading and resetting the difficulty. What am I missing as I don't see an option for this?
