Fs25 Won't Launch Pc

Hi,
Installed the game, but it won't launch, just says launching them goes back to play, no errors shown.
Have googled and tried suggested fixes, I don't have any logs to check,
I only have an updater folder in the my games/fs25 folder.

Any ideas?

Hey mate in NVIDIA Control panel after you add the two .exe files see if you can manually set it to use your RTX 4060 instead of the integrated GPU thats bundled with the CPU.

Appreciate the help mate, but unfortunately that had no impact - all still the same... could it be something to do with DirectX12? that seems to be where it's at in the log file when it "fails to create the swap chain" but I know so little about this kind of thing...

Think before you post. Exactly WHAT did i suggest? I Asked him, where he bought it and pointet the error with not being able to read the xml, to ask if it exists and to check if its a user rights problem.

You seem to have a comprehension issue.. did you check YOUR updater log for such an entry - or you just can't be bothered to do that?
What makes you think the file SHOULD be there - do YOU have such a file present??

If you look in your game directory in my documents, there is a game.xml file - if you open it with notepad you'll see a bunch of values. Try to manually enter your display resolution and enable vsync see if it changes anything. I'd still put it down to corrupt directx12 libraries/missing windows component (try update .NET framework too if possible).

thanks for your help mate! this all certainly pointed me in the right direction... in the game.xml file, I changed the <fullscreenMode> from windowed_fullscreen to simply fullscreen and I made sure that the previousWidth and previousHeight settings matched my screen resolution exactly and it worked!! I'm not sure which one of those two did the trick (or both of them) but I'm farming again and I'm happy...

Just a quick fyi: In DX 12 Fullscreen is "borderless" and it will (or should) match desktop settings. So what ever you have as screen resolution in the settings ("game.xml") doesn't matter. Not that it hurt having them match your screen though!
Like i play in 4K, and the game.xml have
<previousWidth>1280</previousWidth>
<previousHeight>720</previousHeight>

Aye, actually I had a similar issue with Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, only runs in exclusive fullscreen. Didn't know about the swapchain component back then though.

I set "fullscreen" and 1920x1080 and now blank white screen appears on 1 second full screen instead of 0 pix, but game still don't launch. Have i5-7640x, RTX 3060ti win 10 and dx 12 with latest drivers

if its coming up with the play button continuing to return back to saying play, there is a program or piece of software on your system that is interfering with your FS25 startup sequence. i had the exact same issue with the call of duty launcher on steam.

The only cause in my opinion is might be old unupdated windows version 17763 build.

Hey all,

Just jumping in quick as I read this because starting this morning (12/03) I couldn't get the game to launch. I've been playing since 11/28 without issue, so It came as a surprise when I saw the logo on my taskbar before it just disappeared without warning.

I followed a number of steps from videos on YouTube, but what appears to have fixed it for me was "removing" the save folder (I added _OLD to the end of the name so I could access it needed).

After I removed it I started the game and I saw that the game created a new FS25 folder in my documents/My Games/. After that I got a Giants popup window referencing loading (I didn't catch what exactly - I was just excited to see something other than the app crash). After that the game started as normal

The only oddity is that it reverted my settings to default, so I had to change the resolution to 3440x1440 and 120GHz. Otherwise, even my actual saved career files still existed and were playable.


TLDR: Rename your Documents/My Games/ Farming Simulator 2025 folder as _OLD and start the game.
