Can't completely finish a job now?

In '22 I would pretty much always get a 100% completion before the field was quite fully plowed,mowed, etc. But I'd finish it anyway, because, well, immersion and all that. Just took a simple mow job to start and got the 100% and now the mower won't cut this decent sized chunk of grass left over (vehicle reserved for contract work). Maybe it was just overlooked, maybe just grass, but needs to be fixed or there will be many deaths from OCD.

Yeah same here, must be something they overlooked. Hopefully that gets fixed in the next update. I always enjoy finishing the last bits even though the contract has passed the minimum progress requirement.

I always start my games doing contract work until I have earned enough to setup my own farm, when I take a contract its for the whole field so I finish the whole field even though contract finished, but not now and its driving me insane I need to finish the jobs, please lets hope this gets fixed as for me I cannot continue, my brain wont let me, come on giants help us OCD'ers out there

I ran into a issue where we were harvesting and finished the field but the % was short by 20. It didnt credit the other 20 until we sold the harvest to the right vendor. I know this is a different problem but similar.

It was not overlooked, they did not want people to sell the remaining stuff for their own good anymore so the job and equipment now cuts out at the moment you reach 100%.

That does make some sense as to why, but it seems like a lazy way to handle it. Harvesting,baling,I get it. But not much to sell on a plow or such job. They should have found a way to tag any extra bales or harvestables as still part of the job, make the equipment cut off on just those job types, or lower the payout and the extra goods are a bonus for a job well completed (always the way I thought of it before). Looks ridiculous now driving away from a field with a big slash still unfinished.

BTW, now that I'm a bit farther into the game, it looks like mowing/baling has been split on all contracts. You are basically just wrapping bales that are already sitting there, so the exact number is already known. So no extra items to sell there. Really it would just come down to harvesting. I never made a huge amount off of extra crops in '22 after the contract was complete and I just don't feel it's worth it to disallow finishing all fields just for that.

Last word on this, I just did my first harvesting contract and was able to do the whole field. And I made an extra $5000 or so selling the leftover green beans after filling the quota just like in '22. So basically the only fields that you can't complete are the ones that you don't make any extra money off of if you do (plowing, etc) so if it is intentional it's not very well thought out.

I did a green bean harvest contract last night. It went up to 20% after I delivered the first load, and said 79% transported. Finished harvesting the whole field and delivered - it then said 100% transported and gave me the extra money from selling extra crop - but the contract stayed at 20% complete and I was unable to complete it and had to fail it.
