This is a personal thing. The camera zoom before every battle was apparently enough to make me feel dizzy. I don't think I'll be continuing even if I'd like to.

I'm a bit ambivalent about this game, but in the end I don't feel like it deserves a negative review. I guess it could be worth picking up when it's on sale, at least.

I like a lot about Core Crossing. The many damage types and different resistances/weaknesses to them give you a little more to think about when choosing your armour for your characters, since buying the balanced armour for all of them, for example, might suddenly look like a much worse idea than it seemed originally, when an enemy uses an AoE attack everyone is weak against,
The classes are nice and varied, too. Though the roles for some of them overlap, there are enough differences between them that one will probably be a much better fit for your party, or you might just like one much better than the other. The different damage types also help here, because each class only supports so many types of damage.
You can make a party that covers every damage type so you're guaranteed to be able to deal bonus damage, but I don't think you'll be able to take a Guardian in that team, because they only deal sharp damage, and you're very probably going to have at least one Lightblade or Bloodluster or some other class that covers sharp damage plus other types and there aren't enough slots to also take the Guardian.
But you might want to drop coverage for one or two damage types to bring a Guardian instead, because they are both incredibly strong physical damage tanks and amazing damage dealers to anything that doesn't resist sharp damage. So between all the different strengths, weaknesses and just uses of each class, you have plenty of interesting parties to choose from.

As much as I love how all that is designed, Core Crossing really has one problem. And I know it sounds pedantic that I almost wrote a negative review and still don't recommend anyone to buy this game for its already pretty low regular price when I'm clearly happy with so much of the game, all because of one single flaw, but the game is just too easy. Way too easy.
I know my playstyle probably didn't help much. Because I wanted to fully map everything, and you map by walking around, so I probably ended up in a few more battles than intended, probably ended up a bit over-levelled. But it's not like I ran around to grind exp for hours, either, so I'll say you probably get over-levelled like that a bit too quickly. Either that, or every one level gives too much of a powerspike. But I don't really feel like that's true, and even if it is, that's the same effect, isn't it?
And let me be clear. I'm not complaining that the game is just a little too forgiving. It really just becomes trivial, so quickly.
There are special, optional boss-type enemies called Oversouls. You're immediately warned to stay away from them. They are much, much stronger than the bosses you have to defeat, you're told. And they are. You might try to fight the first one anyway. I recommend you save beforehand.
But there's kind of the problem. Normal enemy encounters can pretty much be dealt with by only using normal attacks. For bossfights, you'll probably want to actually use your abilities, but they're not difficult if you do. Those Oversouls, they are the only even remotely challenging enemies in the entire game. That is, until you get too strong again. The last pair of Oversouls wasn't challenging as it was time-consuming, because they have a lot of hp.
In my playthrough, I got one game over, from running into an Oversoul too early. I had maybe five or six party members faint outside of that, all because I was lazy and couldn't be bothered to actually try and prevent it. Outside of that game over, I never had more than one party member down at the same time. I'm pretty sure that the only ways to get a challenge are to either make a new party for every floor or to use, like, five Enchanters or something similarly silly. Maybe I'll try something like that later.

For now, though, I'm just happy that I cleared Core Crossing. I was kind of bored for about half of the time, and seeing the map fill up was more fun than the actual battles. But even if it was kind of wasted on the game because it's so easy that you can pretty much ignore 90% of it with no real problems, I appreciated the class design and damage systems, and I don't regret having bought it on sale. If you're new to this type of game, or if you just want a simple and easy dungeon crawler, you might do the same. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.
