Make ShootMania great again

ShootMania should be the same to shooters, what TrackMania is to racers - a unique getaway from "mundane" and "standard".
At this point it should also be free. Arena shooter genre is pretty much dead and games like this should be readily available to people craving some old school action. Quake Champs ain't cutting it because of modernized systems and simplyfied mechanics (and it's also in early access for almost 5 years now, albeit free). Other indie/open source titles like Xonotic or Warsow/Warfork lack polish and manpower to even compete. With a big-ish name like Nadeo and Ubi behind, i strongly believe that ShootMania can still survive.

They took trackmania to free to play. this could easily compete against CSGO if this was free to play and some random big youtuber highlighted this game. That is all it needs to rocket peoples socks.

well, not really. what really made the game die is the learning curve. new players are getting destroyed by older players, and so the game isn't really fun to play when all you can do in pvp modes is dying, and for other modes such as Obstacle, the learning curve is also gigantic with hundreds of technics to master.

A Famous french Streamer, Zerator is a good friend of Nadeo's head Hylis, and so he tried on a few occasions to repopulate the game, and even rn his next big event includes Shootmania. So for some time there will be a big bump in the community, but then it will slowly decrease.

it's way more complicated to make this game big again x)

Dang. Guess all that is required for this game to blossom is for the entire quake community shift to this game when the Quake servers die.

It won't slowly decrease, but will die as fast as people came on that game just for the event
