🗾 About the Japanese dub 🗾
EDIT: The Japanese dub is now available!

---

Hello Earth Defenders,

Soon you will be able to protect the Earth in UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER - The Feast of the Wolves! However, you’re gonna have to wait a bit more to play with the Japanese voices.

Indeed, the Japanese dubbing is currently under production and will be available when the game is released in Japan, scheduled for Q1 2024. On this occasion, the Japanese voices will be made available in a free update for players all over the world, regardless of the platform!

Our team in Japan is fully dedicated to integrating these voices for the game’s launch in their region, explaining the slight delay. We know that many of you were hoping for this feature right from the initial release, also we want to express our gratitude for your patience, and we are committed to ensuring that this dubbing lives up to your expectations.

In the meantime, you can count on us to reveal even more exciting content related to the game!

Sincerely,
The Microids Team

Just wanted to say thanks, I pre-ordered the game on GOG and will wait for the japanese dub. I take that also the japanese language (text wise) will release at the same time?

As much as a Japanese dub would be neat, I think the focus needs to be on fixing the numerous bugs that are being discussed, as well as the ones that are preventing gameplay. Day 1 release should not be "wait a week to play". I've seen the game plays perfectly on PS5 but people who can't (afford) that platform have to play on PC and I've got such a terrible audio/anti-headphone related bug I can't even start the game without ear-piercing static.

Please be more responsive to the community and keep use updated on bug fixes and updates. Someone on PR needs to make a statement soon to maintain some good will. I want to play this game. I want to cover it.

Pronounciation: Daisuke is like "DIEskay", the U is almost totally silent

Duke Fried "Duke FREED", assuming it is from the German family name, meaning "Peace"

Sorry for nitpicking, it seems like a great game! Incredible to see 70's robots returning

It's always been Fleed, and just sounded like "Fried" in a Japanese accent.

It's always been Fleed. Japanese just don't have an L sound so it comes out as an R. "Freed" is just fan localization.

Technically speaking it's neither, it's a "middle ground" sound so to speak, despite romaji portraying the R (ra ri ru re ro).

Funnily enough I've spoken with a few japanese people and some of them leaned more on the L sound (albeit this could be caused by the words used in the first place).

i cant wait for the JP voices. i started the game today super excited to play the first mazinger game since the 90s and while the gameplay is fantastic, omg i cant stand the english voices. like omg could you not get like koji's va from infinity or something? and not only do none of the voices fit, but duke has like no passion behind his attack shouts or transformations. point is, i cant wait for the jp voices, and im going to take a break from the game till that happens. because man it is so impossibly hard to play when listening to them. its like its not even a super robot show (let alone mazinger)

Stoked for this game, but I can't imagine playing it in any language but Japanese. Worth the wait as far as I'm concerned.

Purchased the Deluxe version, but will not play it until the Japanese dub is released. Keep us posted.

"The Japanese release of UFO Robot Grendizer: Tatoe Waga Inochi Tsukiru tomo, which also brings Japanese voiceovers, will appear on April 18, 2024. Microids is also planning to release the game for Nintendo Switch in 2024."
Nice.

Thanks for the info, I see that when they say "first quarter 2024" it means the last week of the first quarter of 2024.
