Guys is it even EDF6?
Ok i wanted to get this game but after watching bunch of gameplay this looks EXACTLY like EDF5! graphics are hardly increased, weapons and vehicles looks the same! no new mechanism or anything (except drone for air raiders?)
This feels like an DLC for EDF5 instead of EDF6! am i missing something??

There's a lot of EDF5 missions in EDF 6. The story is ultimately about changing the future and that's why, but it doesn't really justify recycling missions from a previous game for a new twist. Still, people are enjoying it, and I won't judge them for having fun playing their new game. Besides, it DOES still look quite fun.

It’s a continuation of EDF5. No new classes or game mechanics. Just more missions with new enemies. Also new story.
I personally love it but it’s not much different from EDF5.

It's more EDF. What else would you want?

Well, how much does a game have to change before it's a new game and not a DLC?

Is new missions not enough? Are new maps not enough? Are new weapons not enough? Are (and I'm not halfway through the story yet) half a dozen new enemy types with entirely new behaviors that aren't reskins of existing enemies not enough? Is an entire new storyline with new characters and voiced dialog not enough? Are class mechanic changes for some of the classes not enough?

Everyone has a different tolerance for "The last game but more", and EDF6 definitely walks that line, but I've seen worse examples. I'm a dynasty warriors fan...

my only complaint was like, 80 or so filler missions before getting to the juicy story parts, and it made sense in the end why we're doing what we're doing, but the beginning felt a little drawn out

The EDF franchise has been operating successfully around this concept for nearly 12 years now (if you only count the western re-releases; 21 years if you include the older games that never made it to the West). Not everybody has to like the formula; but those who do, do.

I've played a lot of games, most of them don't provide me bursts of enjoyment on par with EDF. Consider this: would you replay EDF 5? My buddies and I did the instant they announced they were delaying EDF6 from spring to summer. If playing EDF5 a second time sounds like a slog, EDF6 probably isn't for you. If you're hype about the idea, EDF6 is a fresh experience you might enjoy even more.

just like 4 was 5 and 3 was 4 before it
Revan619 Jul 29, 2024 @ 7:54am
Basically it is a rehash of 5 with a few new enemies.
Ranger buffed
Fencer buffed
Wing Diver buffed
Air Raider nerfed

The new enemies are fun and the story is at least interesting. But it feels like a full priced dlc for 5

no it's edf 10

it's a recycled assets franchise; get used to seeing entire missions recycled.

wait til you realize we're still using the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ant model from EDF1 (<3) :steammocking:

There is a fair amount of missions using old tilesets with new enemies. The plot centers around time travel. Its your money you make the decision idc
