I'll give you the AR though. It should unlock all the air support ♥♥♥♥ after you clear Inferno at least. They couldn't even give the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ an ATV or something since Ranger ended up with all the bikes? I mean come the ♥♥♥♥ on.
On the other hand, its not much different from actual grinding.
And on the third hand, derailing the EDF 5 plot by shooting down saucers early is fun. Even if you only actually do it once.
Ps the air raider was absolutely the strongest and most brain dead class off the bunch in EDF5 the only difference is now you actually have kit that allows you to fight under ground and other classes have been brought up a bit to deal with air raiders shenanigans.
Air raider got a major buff, and the rest of the class'es got some tweaks to keep up with air raiders BS like blood storms having a 0.2 second lock on time.
Thats legit just the dragon levels in this game, how many times does he appear yet we cant kill him until the level he has to die, every edf game has that cheesy invincible kaiju
What annoys me in this game is like OP said, im getting tired of the same levels, same dialogue, over and over.
Air raider is a lot more viable now than he ever was before, as he is no longer vulnerable/useless in a lot of situations. It's cool dropping a bunch of bomber phobos, spritefalls, cannons/miniguns/vulcans, bulge lasers, etc, but when you realize that most players that play/"MAIN" air raider get their face pushed in the moment anything gets close... it really starts to hit home just how useful the drones are in this game.
Not only are drones spammable in mid to close range, they shred everything in their effective range. Things like spritefall, bombers, and even gunners can and will miss their target if you fail to lead the placement properly, whereas drones, all you need to do is point down or just a bit ahead of you to eviscerate any nearby threats. The idea is not to use drones for long range combat, but for mid to short range.
EDF5 was good, but I feel like a lot of the game is just rehashing the same missions as well. You can only do so much in a horde shooter, after all. I'd say the game's balance is a lot better than 5's overall, as 5 has far more "wall" missions than 6 does. You also have more options to deal with enemies simply because of the addition of the backpack slot.
Yeah, but these are less annoying, like I said. Some of them the dragon leaves right away, and some he's more of a distraction like when they're dropping anchors while you fight him. Overall, less annoying than spiky ♥♥♥♥ face.
The repeat levels are SOP for EDF games. Anyone who played 3/2017 knows the first 40ish missions of 4.1 is literally an abbreviated 2017 run. I think a couple missions after that are even remakes of old ones, like Waterside Bugs. Only thing I can't stand is the story ♥♥♥♥ that makes you wait for dialog/NPCs.
It reminds me of Edge of Tomorrow (aka Live.Die.Repeat) with Tom Cruise but in low budget, absurd B-movie vibe this time.
Some missions skip that ♥♥♥♥ when you pause and restart.
is the best campaign and the best EDF.
