I've played every EDF. What I'm saying is, I don't even know what an "idol" is in this context. My entire exposure to these entities is solely through these games lol. I have no idea what an "e-tuber" or "EN" is. Nor do I recognize any of these names.
So, what my brain sees:
"I can't believe we're not getting (random name) and (random name) as pre-order DLC. Literally nobody asked for these (abbreviation I've never seen before.)"
And then someone replying saying:
"(Expletive) (word I don't know) cancer!"
Lol.
That's what I'm trying to say. I'm so out of touch I have no clue what any of this is even about. Does this have something to do with the decoys in the games or...?
In that context, the so-called "e-tubers" are more fictional than usual while still being actual people, essentially just virtual rigs of cute girls that someone puppeteers with a webcam for livestreams. Think of a mocap suit mapped to someone's face and you'll get the gist of it. These personas have turned out popular enough to result in threads like these where people are mad they get one making cameos in the game but not another.
Couldn't give you any proper nouns in that sphere for the life of me, though. I'm just gonna keep shooting all decoys on sight like I've been doing for the last two games.
The matter here is that the japanese version of EDF 6 got three very good Japanese cameos, while we get the short end of the stick with three trash English ones from the same company.
I know it's a business tactic and makes sense from that perspective, but the picks Sandlot made are really bad for those who are in the stuff and care about it from the viewer/consumer side.
I rather have the original JP DLC instead of getting the ones advertised.
To anyone who doesn't know Vtubers (or their fans), most of us are not as insane as the whiners in here.
Ah, I see. Thanks for explaining. So, basically those YouTube animated characters I see around from time to time?
Ah, okay. So it's simply that some would prefer certain likenesses/personas over others, as they're fans. Gotcha.
Okay, this makes more sense now lol. I was so confused. Thanks, you two. I hope everyone ends up with what they want.
Also, Gura, the blue one, is the most subscribed vtuber in the world, in any company in any language. IRyS, the red one, is one of the best singers, and Kiara, orange, is one of the best dancers.
They are not 'trash' by any metric, despite his unhinged ranting.
Yeah, I'm staying out of all that. I just wanted to understand what was being discussed in my decrepit out-of-touchness lol. May all of the digital denizens in question prosper and may players get whoever they want in their games and such.
Heck, I'm old too and I just got into Vtubers within the last few years, largely because they are a breath of fresh air in an otherwise tiring world. Instead of reading twitter where everyone puts flags in their name to signify who they want dead on the other side of the planet, now I watch girls play video games and sing. It's relaxing.
P.s. I got into EDF because I watched IRyS (the red one) streaming EDF 5 and having a ton of fun with it.
