TerraScape
merging orientation
not freaking out; just curious. when i go to merge things (manor farm and forests settlement) they dont always merge.

does the placement order matter?

does the exact layout matter? (eg- manor farm i had the well in the center and the 2 houses on the bottom left and 4 field arounjds the top and right)

for the forest one i know the the cottages need to separate the other tiles but does the location of the lumberjack matter.
Edit: also the one with 6 menhirs surrounding the well, do i need the place the 6 stones or does it count the ones that the map came with?

Hi there
If you place the buildings exactly as per the recipe, the merges should happen. There is only one thing that prevents them from merging: cliffs inside the layout.
Merged buildings should merge even if you mirror or rotate the layouts.
The order in which they were built doesn't matter.

The 6 menhirs of the particular Merged Building don't need 'naturally spawned' menhirs, you can also use the ones you've placed.

okay! after turning my screen and xzooming i did see there was a cliff edge into one of the hexes, thank you.

and then the menhir thing, the building is shown as a question mark but all the building parts are revealed but i assembled it and it didnt unlock the recipe? does it wait for a specific trigger?

For the cliff - problem there is a solution: with the recent DAWN update there is a map filter which shows you the cliffs as obverlay - this may help.

You do 'unlock' or reveal the recipe by building the Merge for the first time than it will be added as a permanent visible entry on the glossary / your player profile. In the moment you build it, it will reveal its bonuses, rewards and name.
Just in sandbox mode you cant reveal recepies - you can build them but they wont be added to your permanent glossary.

I have had a few cases where the merge does not happen, specifically with the Forest Settlement on the 2nd tutorial. As far as I can tell there are no blocking cliffs, and the orientation is correct.

Could you please show me a screenshot? Send it on the official TerraScape discord or via mail to support@bitfallstudios.de. Thanks!
