You dont need the forestry deck for the Manor Farm. Why do you think you need forestry? No Garden needed.

Isn't that a Garden in the middle? That is from the Culture Deck. No?
EDIT : Not Garden but Park.
VERY outdated.
You'll have a merged building list on the side of your screen (right for me) that you can open up. There's a bunch of buildings with question marks on them. That means you haven't opened those cards yet, you can ignore anything with a ? in it for now.
Anything you can see all the pictures for, try out.
Once you've opened all 4 cards for both decks in "A New Hope", and find that merged screen and play with everything, you'll find your answer.

here is the updated guide for all merged buildings for the release version of the game:

You may have misunderstood the principle of unlocking and exploring: you will need the Glossary on the right-hand side of the screen. You can see all the combinations there. If you have already discovered one, it will stay there forever. You can also select the undiscovered and see if there are any clues. The Glossary will show you all the hints for your currently unlocked decks (this means that there is an undiscovered building, but the layout is fully revealed, so you can build it).
Hi Dissenswurst,
All the necessary information about the layouts can be found in the glossary. The layout simply has to match. As also described in the tutorial, a merge does not take place if there are cliffs within the layout (normal height differences (height 1) are ok, stone cliffs prevent combining). There are no other reasons or pitfalls that prevent merging.
Thanks for the reply. This is the danger if you just rely on a tutorial: Despite I read through everything there, this information just slipped my memory. Ok, now I can tell my wife since she also was not sure what was the reason. And it would still be good if there were a general remark in the reference that compound structures do not work if cliffs are included. And still I would prefer a Terrapedia where all possible structures are listed with all that is to know about them.
And I absolutely dislike the discovery aspect in this game since it just means stupid trial and error. Which doesn't mean that the game isn't great apart from that.
I can feel this, buts it is a design decision.
Once discovered, all combinations remain available across all games. Also, as mentioned above, it is only a semi-trial and error: if you have already unlocked a building that is required for any combination, then it will also be displayed, if not, you will see a question mark.
Thank you for your patient replies. I appreciate that.
I am aware that once I have unlocked the things I can find them in the reference to the right. That is good as it is, though I'm not sure what the tutorial exactly explained about it. I'm going to write more in the other thread ("Frustrating!") about that since there more points are discussed.
So it comes down to: I still don't like this discovery process. It adds a cumbersome and boring component to the game for me, but if the majority of players feels different about that, then this may have been the right decision. But not for me and, apparently, several other players. But I won't dump this game because of this. For me, all the rest is fun to play.
