Linux / SteamOS support?
Will there be a GNU/Linux build of the game released at some point? :bpenguin:

The engine looks very impressive. Hopefully it will use the Vulkan API too.

That's the plan. Via Vulkan. Oxide Games is heavily involved in the group creating Vulkan.

This is awesome to hear! Here's hoping for a bright future for Vulkan and Oxide Games.
Congratulations so far. Wishing you all the best.

That's awesome! I was going to post this to Reddit before I saw it already had been posted seven months ago. Loved Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation, but Planetary Annihilation hasn't quite captured the essense of those for me, so would love to see more Linux titles in that genre.

Thanks for this, do you happen to have any updates on the ETA? Since you're a Khronos member and have had access I assume you've been working on the Vulkan renderer for your engine for a while now, so just wondered if there were any updates. :3

Also love your (at least previous) stance against DRM! :3

Thanks. And yea, as soon as drivers start to come out we'll be able to start doing stuff with Vulkan.

Regarding DRM, thanks. No DRM on Ashes. :)

thank you for planning to support windows, mac os x and linux (and vulcan)

Do you plan to use vulkan on windows as well? I hate the direction windows is going in, so I'm slowly switching all my 3d work to applications with linux support, but I will be on win7 for a while during the transition.

wow plus 1 all the way.

I might even try this game with a steam controller :steamhappy:

Linux is the future gaming platform due to Windows turning into spyware.

As soon as this gets a Linux client, you'll have a buy here. I haven't been disappointed in a Stardock title yet, but I've recently dumped Windows as a gaming platform. I'm hoping to sell this one to my RTS group to make up for the lack of good RTS decisions of late.
Looks great fun!
Reminds me a bit of the great Supreme Comander/TA-Games. Sup Com FAF was my favorit Game on Windows (I don't game on my Win-Workstation any more).

I totaly would buy this for my Steam Machine (Xeon E3, GTX 780, fast SSD, 32GB RAM, LinuxMint+Steam). And i would play the hell out of it with my son in the living room. :)
