The 'terror' condition
Anyone else feel like 'terror' generating opponents in world 2 have to be top priority to burn down? The incoming damage amplification is so much for even a well synergized team.

Not really. I generally focus down the cauldron guys who can stack up regen and burn stacks to the point that they become nigh invincible.

The guy who applies terror also applies it on himself, making him easier to deal with.
the chefs really are so annoying lol

For me it depends on who's applying the terror. If it's Nosferatu (the bat), then no. If it's Mephisto (the demon dog), then yes. Mephi is at the top of my kill order.

Mephi's signature trait causes it to gain crit and dodge based on the total number of debuff stacks in the battle (on ALL monsters, friends and foes). If you take too long to kill it, there's a good chance it'll kill at least one of your monsters.

All the attackers in act 2 are pretty dangerous if you don't mitigate their damage somehow. But purging them down to normal attacks, breaking their poise, and shielding can all make them only chip you for a bit. It's really just the threat of one monster being focused that you have to be scared about, if your team isn't built to fix that; other than breaking poise or killing one of them, this can be pretty lethal because of the increased base damage traits everything has at this point.

The scaling the player can do is significantly faster than this (100+ damage with one monster on turn 2 is pretty achievable by this point), so I've never really seen terror stack up much.
Had a fun build where i had two tanks and wyrmling. The interaction made it that anything that attacked me got attacked back, but also gave me decent amounts of aether, that every point spent defending gave me aether breath. Free attack on wyrmling which would ko the opposing side one of my best. also did u know that aether breath gets buffed by the power buff

I completed the game with a sidekick build, the wolf with 2 heads and a bat-like monster. It works, it does good damage and heals alot with every hit and so the terror and corruption didnt get to me.
