I loved ROTKX is this similar to X?

the update is going to be similar to 13 as many are saying, but with RoTK 8 updated system/mechanics. Not sure how thats going to translate, but no not similar to 10. RoTK 8 was turn based.

wasn't X turn based? the battles was. so you mean the campaign map is turn base as rotkx has a constant advance in time when doing actions. so this will be like rotk14 where every 10 days you do stuff.

I hope 10 gets a remake as well

I missed X so I can't relate. VIII was almost a one player game. Start off as a ruler like Cao Cao or play as XiaHou Dun and be subordinate....or insubordinate. You can start off as a no name peasant and attempt to gain rank and privilege or form your own band and try to recruit other officers to it. Move about the country helping where needed or declare yourself a ruler and start a new dynasty.

The last game I had played, I ended up as Prime Minister for Ma Chao's Dynasty. It was bad. Tribal invasion from the north invaded and set fire to the country, dividing it back up was my cut scene finale. Horrible :P

I oftrn get the xiong nu cutscene in EDIT: I was confusing VII's xiong nu ending credit scene above.

Yes... I agree it is best that we wait, I'm getting old(er) and grumpy with nostalgia making me bitter 10-20 years later.

Koei hasn't exactly been stellar with their recent new games (Wild Hearts, Wo Long, Fate) on release.
Now those titles were by a different teams (Tecmo and Omega, IIRC), but having the same "branding" and the notoriety with poor quality PC ports, I am not holding my breath.

And it is likely this game will be around 60$ Base game and up to 90$ for a "complete" edition. (Of course Koei could separate the Power-up Kit of the "remake" as a separate DLC... yes, I am cynical. )

If it makes you feel better, Koei did tone down the whole DLC thing a lot in their latest historical sim game (Nobunaga Awakening). English player only need to buy one game which includes PUK, and nothing else. No other DLC, no season pass, nothing, just 1 complete game purchase only. So only pay 60 dollars and that's it, unlike ROTK XIV with its ridiculous PUK and season passes.

So yes there is hope that they would follow that formula instead, unless the guy who's in charge of that get fired for not being too consumer friendly and not predatory enough. Considering its remake though I would bet that they would actually do that or risk very bad reception.
