ACAH:EE still performing first time setup

I wonder if other people are experiencing this. Whenever I enter ACAH, it requests my permission and always performs that first time setup of a game (the redistributal package thing). I can still play but I'm afraid there is something amiss. If anyone knows a fix or solution or any answer for this, please reply ASAP.

This happens a lot on steam games. Start steam and the game as an admin. Most of the time this fixes the issue, but for some games it never goes away. I usually just hit "no" on the pop up for the games that never stop asking. It still works. :/

It's nothing serious - it happens sometimes with some games.

Open Start bar and in a search bar type in:

regedit.exe

Now go to:

32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Valve\Steam\Apps\228400
64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Valve\Steam\Apps\228400

In the field on the right there should be some values already.

Right click in the empty space on the right and click:
New -> DWORD Value (it may say something a bit different either way create DWORD something - I have Polish Windows, so sorry)

The name for the new value should be : vcredist
The value (Data?) should be: 1 (what you have in bracket)

You'll need to add another key. They removed the gfwl setup but did not edit the install script.

So add a new value: live

Could also be enough just to delete the *.vdf file in the game folder.
This is safe to do, it's a text file telling steam what dependencies to install.
Only afaik it gets re-downloaded if you verify game cache or reinstall.

That used to be a solution, but steam now days restore the vdf upon every start of the game.

OK, I've tried the above to get this game to run. Although there is some progress (I get past the vcredist setup) I get a black console windw that displays very quickly and the dissapears. Then nothing.

Same here, appears the first time setup, it says "installing: ( step )" and then I get the black console windows that dessapears in 1 second.

The fix I was told to do from Namco, which worked for me, was as follows:
Exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).

Delete all of the files in this folder except:

The \Steamapps\ folder and Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo)

Restart your computer.

Then, launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut.

With Steam running, re-test the original issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games.
