Guys at Bug Bear... If you do one thing and one thing only......Create a user defined camera location that can be set and locked!

You already have; Chase, Spherical and Free Camera Modes. I suggest you make a 4th (if possible) and it will be the most innovative camera mode EVER in a racer, if you can pull it off.

THis is how it works

- Press next camera mode until you reach "Custom Camera Mode"

- Press a desiganted keyboard key called "Camera Unlock" ... What this does is function what seems like a free camera mode (but in fact) the location of the users view is being tracked by the program.

- The user can can then adjust the location of the camera ANYWHERE they desire and hit another key called, "Camer Locked"... What this does is lock in the "Custom Camera Mode" view the user has defined.

For instance; I personally like chase camera mode and but, your current one is too low and far away. so in Custom Camera Mode, i would raise up "Y" and push forward "Z" axes. Or say, a track is tight with lots of turns. I like a view that puts the camera top and center just above the windshield on the roof.

I dont personnaly like cockpit view but thousands of others DO! With this user defined camer ability, a racer could unlock the current chase (or whatever location) camer view, zoom in and position the camera X,Y,Z behind the steering wheel EXACTLY where they like it and lock-it-in!

You could take it another step further to creat a "Save Custom View" [option]. You could allow the users to define the Custom Camera View (as above) and save-it to each specific car type (because a cockpit view or a roof view [or whatever] location/coordinates probably wont be the same for each car, i assume). Additionally a possible different view for the same car but on different track types (if so desired).

Please do this because i hate most all default "settlings" for camera location in chase mode or hood cam or bumper cam, etc always slightly off from where i would feel more comfort and focus.... THanks!

P.s. Being a simple gamer and not a programmer, i have always wondered why they don't do this in racing games. THere has to be a logical reason. One i can imagine, is continuous realtime rendering of detailed skins and textures inside most of the interior trim/dash, rear view mirror, interior windshield frame, steering wheel, etc. maybe to memory expensive?

Case in point. Grid 2 has no cockpit view. There are modders that created a cockpit view but. the textures and details are horrid... only designed to be randomly seen from afar not up close.

In the first Grid i actually went in and adjusted the parameters so i could raise and move backwards the hood cam to the top of the car, that perfect for me and made for awsome control in judging distances to walls and other cars without being obscured.

THere must be other reasons but... what is strage is there are plenty of RPG game out there where you can adjust your camera angle (mouse scroll in and out and vertical) in realtime and left there or be adjusted on the fly during various encounters.

Your spherical mode is pretty cool and free camera also, but a fixed location behind the car seems best (one less input for the mind to deal with. However each of us gamers have different preferences in the actual placement of this static location.

P.s. Also, think about adding as many adjustable sensitivity setting (sliders) to simply; steering, brakes and accel pedal (aka. Grid "1" style).

Last but not least, add as many Graphics Setting as possibly available (stable) to change. Kids love to fix and fiddle to tune FPS and/or make the the game as pretty as possible.

Good Luck

I registered an account at the official forums on 22-12-2013 and I get "Your account is still awaiting admin approval." when I try to log in. Any idea why that's happening? Account name is "XodanRot".

I'll repeat my problem in this thread, just in case.
----------

NCG can't find Nvidia graphic card

I have two videoadapters in my laptop: Nvidia GT540M with 2 GB VRAM and low-end Intel HD Graphics. So when I try to start Next Car Game I have no option to choose GT540M (screenshot linked below). Intel HD adapter provides about 5-15 FPS on minimal settings with unchecked boxes.

OS: Windows 7 x64 Home Premium.

Thanks JaniBB!

Because I can't write anything on the official forums, I will ask this here: Will people who bought the game on your website get the "Sneak Peak 2.0" on Steam like people who bought it on Steam? I would like to have "Sneak Peak 2.0" on Steam (not just as a direct download), but it's not in my games list.

Thank you. But i must first apologize for the massive number of spelling, punctuation and syntax errors. I had been awake for 24 hours. Thanks for understanding.

(cont.) Even in Alpha-State, the current game is amazing! THe way the cars handle/control (i dont even mind the level of chase cam (intended) acceleration rubber-banding and cornering camera angle changes/cues, nice and subtle), incredible physics engine (Wow!), the quality of graphics (even playing on my potatoe)... it all looks and feels amazing!

I really hope they are able to implement this "realtime/global" user adjustable (maybe saveable) camera angle idea.

In every other racing game EVER, i always am annoyed at the amount of time it takes for me to "get used to" and be comfortable with the preset camera angles. in some of the other racing games, i NEVER get used to it and have had to spend many, many hours searching the net for a mod or searching game file parameters to mod (without getting VAC'ed) that wont break the game, instead of playing the game.

Thanks again for the cookie

My Xbox360 controller works fine. Maybe they have not added support for many other gamepads or controllers yet?

At first (because the keyboard command legend popped up), i had no idea that XInput was resident, until i fired it up using Xpadder and found all the controls conflicts. Shut off Xpadder, gamepad works, ok.

Go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Next Car Game Sneak Peek 2.0 and click on the readme.txt. Some info there about various things everyone should know about the "Alpha" including "RACING WHEEL SUPPORT"

If you controller is not supported, can you use a keyboard to gamepad emulation app like Xpadder or the like?
