Still, on the last lap its every man for himself/Herself and there has been some make or brake moments thats for sure..
Lotsa: Yeah that should warrant a direct kick and should be built into the netcode, but yeah it really feels like the type of game where it is ok (and designed) to have multible crashes throughout the race :)
I also agree that driving the wrong way should warrant an automatic kick. Maybe someting like driving backwards for 5 seconds.
I think that most "auto" kicks are for high pings, though. I get about 100 as ping in most servers and I don't lag at all, but some people thinks that's too high already, so they kick you out :P
So i take it there isnt a way to spot "clean" servers? anyone? :)
Btw raz: Depending on where the host/server are in the world people are going to have different pings and that might get a little better later on, who knows :)
In this particular game what I consider a "clean race" is a race where no one drives the opposite route just to hit someone. Other than that in my oppinion it's a free for all. If you feel like overtaking by spinning the guy out in front of you... well it sucks but this is the nature of the game.
Edit: But that's also the difference when you race on tarmac or on gravel/dirt. For example even in NCG I rarely hit anyone when racing on the tarmac track because of the extra control the car has enables me to "drive correctly". Driving on gravel or dirt though it's a different story. Because of the nature of having to drift your way around if the car in front of me is in a bad position... tough luck. I'm not gonna alter my drift in order to avoid hitting someone.
No driving in the wrong direction, but apart from that anything should be viable.
Haven't had any game where clean driving was enforced, but thankfully several where people driving the wrong way were kicked.
Personally i like it,helps cause pileups.I also like turning round to stop first so a friend can win. Just avoid people going to the wrong way, make it very clear in the lobby that theres no turning round or host private lobby's if you dont like it with other clean drivers for now
It can be frustrating when you've clawed your way to a lead and are rocking that ♥♥♥♥ when someone in dead last is driving backwards and takes you out. You take the rough with the smooth. What I don't get is the fustercluck at the start of a lot of races. If you wanna smash people up, it's generally more impressive when you're going fast, and if you wanna race, locking wheels with someonje and sending you both into the wall ain't gonna help! XD
