Car handling
After the latest update I am back to fish-tailing all over the track. It has gotten better in that getting hit from the rear is now fixed. There was a patch a while back that made the cars handle GREAT but now I am back to the rear end of the car coming around ALL THE TIME when I stamp on the gas. It seems I can tap lightly to turn while accelerating, but if I turn the steering hard one direction or another the back end whips around on me. It feels less realistic. I mean, in the real world, the back end would break free(possibly), sure, but it wouldn't instantly come around, spinning me out.

Taking corners has gone from being a fun place to possibly rub into opponents to a chore that can seriously affect your placing in the race! One bad corner has put me from first to 12th more than once.

I have all assists on half and play with an Xbox controller. I have no problems with spinning out.

What assists do you have (if any)?

dont stomp on the throttle just ease into it and you wont spin.

Being RWD cars, stomping on the gas pedal is going to spin those tires to propel the car forward, then as you're turning they're going to lose grip while the back is still trying to go forward, making you spin. You have to have throttle control in corners. You could change the differential in the car, might help a little bit. Try the limited-slip diff?

Check that you have progressive throttle. There was a bug that caused any press of the throttle resulting in full throttle being applied, like an on-off switch. This made the handling hard work out of the corners.
There is a fix on these forums if that's the case.

Thanks for the tips. I will try this tonight with my 360 controller. I tried it with all the assists on and off too. Both times the rear end of the car (no matter which car I chose) always came around on me.

I'm using all assists off and manual ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the small Euro car. I have the 220hp engine, locked diff, tarmac racing tires and racing suspension, high performance brakes, and paint job 3, because the paint is what it's all about.
Just using a 360 controller I don't have that many issues, drifting around the corners at speed isn't too hard for me once I got used to the new handling. Just have to countersteer and apply throttle, brakes, and handbrake properly. Sometimes coming out of a slide I'll get all wibbly woobly but I just let off the gas and tap the brake and I stabilize quite easily.

Ah, ok, got it down now with the contoller. Updated drivers and such, reset defaults. Handling seems great with a controller still. Love this game. The new weight of the cars feels much more realistic after the last few updates. I think I also had an open differential. NAY I SAY! Limited seems to help too. Thx for the tips and after my updates all around I'm taking corners much better. I still suck at them, but at least the car is staying pointed where I want it to go. THANKS great community!

If you don't know how the diffs work. an open diff only transmits power to the path of least resistance, so the wheel with less grip naturally. They are "ok", but since money isn't a conern ingame atm, I'd just use the Limited Slip Differential for normal racing. LSD's will limit how much power is put to the wheel with less grip so you at least have some traction and power on the other one. Locked/welded diffs just keep both wheels spinning at the same speed no matter what, makes drifting easy.
Not sure how well this is modeled ingame as I spend 98% of my time using the locked diff for drifting.
