second that :)
I think there a chance we might see caravan races in NCG.
I will support the modes ONLY if they are 100% optional / free dlc. If they are forced events such as Flatout forced me into those carnage mode stunts, then absolutely NO. (I despised carnage mode unlocks)
Probably the best way to ensure that is by making the career mode progression money-based rather than 'unlocking' parts for winning races.
So have every single part available to buy right at the start, but make most of them out of the player's price range, and the player has to win enough cash to buy them. They can win the cash by competing in every event, or just doing the ones they like over and over again.
Although I have no issue with caravan and 3-wheeler racing, I think I'd prefer that kind of career progression too, actually. Unlocking parts which cannot be obtained in any way other than winning that particular championship feels too contrived and artificial, too arcade, for Next Car Game. A more simulation style game could use a more simulation style game progression to go along with it.
Progression like that would also open up options for players to play the game their own way, which would be great. Do players spend all their money on speed and leave their car very weak and vunerable to damage, or do they spend on armour and make sure they always finish the race, but with the added challenge of being very heavy and slow? Would it be worth saving up and blowing all your winnings on one really high-tier part, or better to take your time and work up to the higher levels bit by bit? I like those options...
Thats why they're fun to smash up ;)
