same
i did this and I'm still getting the same problem
OP check the doc\my games \ wreckfest folder is not set to hidden, no idea why it would be but mine was (It was fine 2 days ago)
Zyddie, can you help me?
I realised that if you delete the folder named "Wreckfest", it gets created again when I try and boot the game, however then there's immediately the mentioned error message again.
unstalled the game - and installed it again , it 2 times , the same thing ??
Do you have windows ransomware protection enabled?

Like a permission issue with the \Documents folder or anti virus. Some have had success moving \Documents folder to another hard drive. You will see a shortcut to the \Documents folder in Windows Explorer, if right click Properties, click and go Location Tab, can move folder.
Some have had to make a new Windows user account and run Wreckfest from there to get WF to start.
Also can give this big thread a read for possible fixes:

Here a possible fix too, from Wreckfest Discord:
> no successful boots yet.
@Spartix#0047
> Hmm, can you check " documents \my games " and see if there is a wreckfest folder
@Spendy#7979
> There is not.
